Different optimizations work nicely on deep-drilled Adirondack well and chlorinated city water.
Our Adirondack Camp relies on a drilled deep well. While the water tests bacteria free, there are noticeable traces of H2S, which greatly annoy Daugher and her son, my 10yo Grandson, when showering. While we do have an under-kitchen sink iSpring RCC7 RO system for drinking and cooking, the only whole-house filter is a basic sediment. So when we had the opportunity to test several different AquaHome shower filters we did so. This review is for the 'well water', 'hard water', and impurity-reducing versions. What is in common between them all is the size of the cases and filters is exactly the same. This means when you buy filter replacements, you can change types no problem. However, if you have different types already, take care as the replacement filter boxes and filters themselves are completely unmarked. Easy to mix up - so keep the replacements in the original box. I immediately sharpie marked everything. Now please look at the listings Comparison chart. This is where you get the differences explained between these filters. The 'Well Water' version has the most 'green checkmarks'. It also is no more costly than the others. So this one was installed in the bathroom used by Daughter and Grandson. Our second bathroom shower is the one I use. I recently installed a 'rain shower'- type head, while keeping the hand held sprayer for thorough soap off - everywhere. I apparently am not as sensitive to H2S smells, though I do notice them on occasion. After reviewing the comparison table, I installed the 'Hard Water' version, since we have no problem with chlorine, and I had no real issue with H2S. But I thought it might be nice to have softer water for easier 'soaping up', shampooing, etc. I am pleased with my choice as well. The third filter, impurities, was installed in my winter Seniors apartment. This has 'city water' provided by the small village also in the Adirondacks, The water is heavily clorinated. All filters can be expected to last about 10,000 gallons. This is standard capacity for KDF/carbon shower filters. Equivalent to ~6 months at 55–60 gallons/day (2 showers). 4 persons? Change in 3 months. Daugher and Grandson happy. That's 5 stars. And so am I. 5 stars. Different optimizations work nicely on deep-drilled Adirondack well and chlorinated city water. Tip: Be sure to wrap plenty of teflon tape around the threads of the male shower connection, after removing remnants of the old tape. Wind the tape on Clockwise. Even so, don't be surprised if it still leaks and you have to fiddle with it. These 'NPT' - National Pipe Taper - are an asinine design from c1900. They never completely seat right because of the da---d taper. Newer 'compression' fittings have taken over under-sink, but NPT remains for showers.

Easy install. No leaking. Water pressure.is fine. No stinky water. Totally happy. Getting more!
I live in the country and have a well. My water has a lot of sediment--we definitely have a whole house filter which we have to replace every month as it gets all "clayed up" if we go longer than that. I could carry on. Without the filter it literally gets horrible--you even have to scrub the interior of your toilet TANKS as they get clay in the TANKS if for some reason you have to turn off your house filter. Anyway, you get the picture. Our water can also be stinky, sulfurous. We test our water through the county and it is fine biologically. Still, there is no way that I want to take a shower with stinky water. This filter is a big help. It doesn't leak and it doesn't impede water flow. I'm sold and I'm going to order more because I don't ever want guests who would use a separate shower from mine to have the discoloration or smell in their shower water, either. I really appreciate the fact that it comes with one filter already in the housing unit and an extra filter for later. My plan wlll be to replace the filter in December and then again in June so it'll just be one of those seasonal tasks. There is an instruction sheet and teflon tape included for installation. It requires no tools and is easy to do. I got a kick out of the 5 shower caps of various colors they included in the package. I doubt we will ever use them but they were a fun touch. Anyway, what I'm saying is that I'm really happy with this and am going to get more.

Well Constructed, good quality
I have used these water filters before and they are all constructed pretty much the same way. There's a plastic canister that screws together and inside is the filter. I checked the build quality of this product and it is very good. It's solid, no weak or flexible parts and it comes with multiple rubber seals and teflon tape to prevent leaks. Make sure to use the teflon tape on the threads before installation to prevent leaks. I do not see any issues with this product and the good part is the filter cartridge can always be replaced with a similar filter that has the same design as they are mostly cross compatible. So you can change the filter based on what you want it to filter. Overall the filter this product came with is of very good quality and heavy, I can tell they did not try to cut cost on it. I did not get a chance to install it and test it, however even if I did it's very hard to gauge how well these things truly work without before and after water tests. So my review is primarily focused on the build quality of the product.

Easy Installation and Still Outputs High Pressure
Living up in the mountains, our water quality is… let’s just say interesting. Even with a whole house softener and point-of-use filters, I still felt like my water could use a little more TLC. So naturally, I picked up another filtered shower head, because apparently, I have a filter fetish. (My guest bathroom already has one, paired with vintage wood paneling and an avocado green toilet that could tell stories.) Installation was a snap, if you can screw in a lightbulb, you’ve got this. Everything you need is included, even teflon tape and some unexpected shower caps (which I don’t need but appreciated nonetheless). I unscrewed my current shower head, removed the old tape, added new tape, popped on the new filter, and reattached my already-filtered shower head. It’s like a real-life version of the “Yo Dawg” meme: “Yo Dawg, I heard you like filters, so I put a filter on your filter…” You get the idea. Too early to say how long this filter will hold up against my well water, but they include a second one, so I’m covered for a while. Even if it doesn’t make it the full 6 months, I’m happy with the setup so far. But it’s held up fine after a week, my skin feels soft with no irritation or side effects from the filter. Water pressure is still high, too.

Helps clean the impurities from the water you can feel the difference
well water filter noticeably improves water clarity and smell, making showers much more pleasant. I haven’t been feeling that tight dry feeling on my skin after showers. It was mentioned could be from hard water, Installation was easy just have to be careful when tightening the filter to the shower and neck that you don’t over tighten I found the rubber washer that is included is very pliable, and would actually stuff itself inside the pipe. Creating a slight leak I had to then take it back off, pull the little rubber gasket out of the pipe, place it back in top of the filter, connection and tighten it to a snug fit. I would also recommend being careful when adjusting the showerhead that you hold on to the filter as well. I would be cautious that it may break when adjusting showerhead otherwise. The product comes supplied with two filters which they estimate to change every six months. Overall, I have noticed a difference with the water. Improvements that would be nice would be better gasket material and possible metal construction
