Better than some of the comments suggest
Use these on long rides on the road and I think they are a brilliant at refueling mid ride. They are chewy which is a refreshing change to gels as it gives you something to focus on as you couldn't eat it in one. The taste is not as described but then who genuinely thinks any kind of high carb or protein bar tastes any good? There is definitely a malt loaf taste and a hint of liquorice as well. More importantly they work, I genuinely noticed a difference on the second half of my ride.
