Not best quality
This would be an okay normal sencha. Does not taste like gyokuro. Also, the instructions on the back are absurd, if one intends to brew gyokuro. It said to use water that was still boiling. For high quality gyokuro, one should use warm, not boiling, water (no Japanese green tea should use boiling water). I would have assumed this tea to be a normal sencha if that little sticker that says "Gyokuro" were absent. On the bright side, delivery was fast.

favorite tea
This makes a lovely light green tea. I love the vegetable flavor of a rich matcha tea. This reminds me of a light brewed verson of a match tea.. Light and not bitter.

Good stuff
Obvious different opinions, we tried 4 different green teas and this one is by far the best! Try this one yourself and see. Opinions obviously differ!

Poor quality
Worse than tea bags ; just a dust, no tea leaves.

Good Value Gyokuro
After a few trials, I will pass on some notes about brewing techniques for enjoyment of this tea. Brewing temperature should be at 140F - 145F (for initial steep) to obtain the right flavor from 1 1/2 teaspoons to 6 oz of water (Steep for 1 minute and 45 seconds). 2nd steeping at 150F - 155F for 45 seconds. 3rd steeping at 176F for 3 minutes. I was able to get 3 full steeps with distinctive tastes among them. A kyusu, hokujo shiboridashi or houhin should be used for steeping and a water pitcher for pouring into teacups. Nice notes of earthy chocolate grass and seaweed.
