These are very good for taking moisture out of things. I dehydrated mushrooms, strawberries, bananas and other fruits, i placed them in a jar with the silica packets to absorb any remaining moisture. They work great, there is no smell as far as i have noticed, but i would not recommend putting them in the microwave to get rid of the moisture as it advertises. I've done that to alot of them and they have been destroyed due to the gels getting really hot, even after 30 seconds, and the gels burning through the bag. If you have an dehydrator, i recommend putting them in there and letting the dehydrator do its work. Overall i am very happy with the product, if i need more, i will definitely buy more since the price i'snt bad. I would say buy some and try it out for yourself.

We just starting using these for the meat we freeze dry for our cats. This allows us to get more time in between making loads in out freeze dryer.

They are working really well right now. I have not had any problems at all.
