Byrna CL [Compact Launcher] Kinetic Launcher Ultimate Bundle - Non Lethal Kinetic Projectile Launcher, Home & Personal Defense

I am a 31 year old SAHM of 2. I ordered this because I was interested in carrying something to help me defend myself/my kids when I am out and about running errands or going places but I did not want to run the risk of carrying my home defense Glock and having my kids meet a tragic end because they somehow got to it.This is an absolutely perfect compromise. I got it yesterday and trained with it this morning. I had heard that the first trigger pull can be hard due to it being necessary to pop the canister so I wanted to make sure I practiced that. I did not find it to be as hard as I thought it would be and it was relatively easy for me to fire the first half-force round and then immediately fire a second full force round. I don’t think it will take much getting used to at all.I plan to load my magazine so that the first half force round is a regular kinetic projectile and the second full force round is one of the chemical max projectiles. I think this will be a super efficient way to ward off anyone I need to, should it ever come to that. I do wish that the ammo for this model wasn’t so expensive and cost prohibitive, but I get it. They’re the only ones that make .61 so why not get a profit from it. Overall I really do love this thing so far and I feel much better knowing I have it on me when out and about alone with my kiddos. My little sister recently moved in with us and used to regularly cc herself but now that she’s with my kids all the time she doesn’t feel comfortable doing that anymore. I think I will get her one of these for her birthday!!!

It's a great little kit for deterring a predator for home defense. I wanted something for a little protection, yet not kill someone at the same time. Living in my state, you can not even buy a bullet without lengthy NRA forms, fingerprints, and other documents, you know, all the extras for the honest people. This is legal in all 50 states.

I really can't give this any more than one star. I have contacted Byrna for two issues. Once to ask a question which was not really answered, but instructions (that don't' answer the question asked) were sent to me. Then I contacted them because of an issue with my launcher. I didn't hear back after a couple days so reached out again, only to be told I had been escalated to management.. fair enough. Still nothing back since then. I feel the support alone is reason enough to avoid the brand. If I ever hear back, I will update accordingly. I finally heard back. I was offered no options and basically blown off. If support is important to you, you should avoid.

Great non lethal self defense toy...all should save the money and own one very light weight and lots of hitting power.

make sure you order the correct caliber ammo, I ordered tear gas/pepper ball and they came in .68 caliber size and my gun only takes .61 Why do they make 2 different caliber guns and dont have a statement saying make sure you order the correct size ammo, AND I cannot return the larger CS balls as they say they are non returnable that bull crap

I have to carry something for work. I am a fan of this, both conceptually and the product itself, in rare circumstances. However, after putting it through its paces, I carry a firearm instead. There are two downsides: (1) the kinetic rounds will not stop the kind of person a gun would, and (2) the OC (max) is too strong to be used everywhere, like indoors, where it can get into HVAC systems, and/or there may be bystanders.You would use this in cases where you wish you could brandish a firearm as a threat, but wouldn't because it would be unwise or illegal. It's like having a club as a deterrent; I've known many people who would charge a club anyway just to do it. It's a challenge to some people, especially when in altered states. Watch the YT videos.The OC is very powerful, so powerful that I wonder whether bystanders would sue for collateral damage - and based on how powerful it is, I think it's likely they would. I was disabled catching a whiff eight feet away, 15 seconds after disbursement, and that short exposure ruined me for about 10 minutes. If you've experienced tear gas, this is a whole 'nuther level of distress.I would almost like to carry both this and a firearm, but that seems paranoid in my mostly suburban environment. I think it's better to simply avoid situations where you might need either, but if you need one it wouldn't often be this.

Arrived on time & just what we ordered

Wow! A big improvement over the previous models. High powered like the Law Enforcement model, but in a smaller form factor that my wife can manage much better. I LOVE Byrna and have several launchers. Even though I am pro- 2A, I am happy to have non-lethal options like Byrna offers.
