I question why I didn’t get this product sooner in my life. Seriously. This product has made such a positive change in my skin - I feel like crying. While I have never been officially diagnosed, I’ve always felt that I have a type of rosacea. I don’t get pustules, zits or anything like that (unless I consume a lot of certain sugary drinks, and food) but for as long as I can remember, my face has always dealt with redness. Yes, certain things such as consuming sugar triggers it and makes it worse. I’ve been using skincare since my mid 20s. I am currently in my early 30s. I feel for the most part I was using products that were benefiting my skin, but as far as the redness went, nothing I used seemed to treat it. Around a year ago, I heard about how azelaic acid can be beneficial to people who have rosacea - treating redness and the pustules that go with it. So while I was aware of it, I just kept putting off purchasing it. Life stuff always coming up. After talking with ChatGPT about how sick I was about always walking around with a red/pink face, it recommended azelaic acid. Specifically Paula’s Choice. Now we all know that with a lot of skin care products it can take time to see differences. No lie… I began seeing results from this within just under two weeks or so. The redness in my face has decreased A LOT. I am now at a point in my life where I feel more comfortable going out without having to wear foundation or using something like Cicapair by Dr. Jart+ (which by the way is great at covering the redness). I am extremely pale, so dealing with a face that was red almost constantly - I felt that the difference between my face and body were so dramatically different, it made me self-conscious. But now? I am much more confident. The redness isn’t completely gone, but when I say it has been dramatically reduced, I mean it! My skin also has this type of glow that I’ve never experienced with other products - not even my tretinoin. I use this product every other day. I have several products I use for my skin and I cycle through them every other day. When I do apply this, like with every other skin care product, I always mist my skin lightly with water. Yes, doing this increases the potency of products but for my skin, I can tolerate it just fine. I also feel that by dampening your skin, the product spread, spreads a lot more evenly and easily. While this is priced at $39 and being only 1 ounce, I know it sounds expensive. But I will say that a little goes a LONG way. You don’t need to be using globs of this stuff. Also, I feel you can get away with using this every other day, like myself, so it can last longer. Everyone’s skin is different. Like I said, I’ve never been officially diagnosed, but based on what I’ve experienced and what I’ve read, I truly do feel I have some form of rosacea. I also have certain triggers that make it worse; such as consuming certain types of sugary drinks. So I feel that if you identify your specific triggers, use this product… you should see a definite difference. Wish I had gotten this product sooner! I absolutely love it.

I’ve been dealing with worsening rosacea for YEARS. Prescription 1% Metronidazole barely keeps it at bay. But after a few days of using this 2x a day, I started noticing a huge difference! Woke up with fewer little whiteheads, regular dry patches started going away, and my skin texture improved. The before is how bad I get during a flare-up, and the after is after 6 days of using this product. Still a bit rosy, but now it’s easier to cover up because I don’t have bumps and flaking skin. REALLY hoping it’s this amazing cream and not some weird hormonal fluke that cleared up my skin, but these results are pretty unprecedented for me.

I usually don't write reviews but I felt strongly about letting others know about this one... had bad rosacea after finishing nursing the baby. It is all hormone related. Happened to me twice after breastfeeding. First time I went to the dermatologist and the stuff she prescribed was making me worse! I was so upset. I was trying to avoid any prescriptions and would just put makeup to cover up. This time I tried honey and other cleansers and was willing to forgo the Rx and pray it would go away. After further research, I came across this product and thought to give it a try. The amount of azelaic acid must be the perfect amount for doing the job to remove the bumps but no so strong as what a dermatologist would prescribe that will cause sensitive skin to get worse. I am satisfied with this purchase. I was more concerned with lessening the bumps then the redness and it is doing just that. Goes on smoothly and is light weight. Doesn't feel like a medicine cream.

I’ve been using Paula’s Choice Azelaic Acid for over 6 months, and it has honestly made such a difference. I’ve always been insecure about my melasma and acne scars, so it meant a lot when my mom asked me yesterday what I’d been using because my skin looked so clear and glowy. It is a little pricey for such a small bottle, but if you struggle with acne scars, discoloration, or melasma, I definitely recommend giving it a try. Just be patient and consistent. It took me about 3 to 6 months to really see the results, and it was worth the wait.

This is a quality item that helps even skin tone. I was able to get it on sale, which was an obvious plus.

I received this today and wanted to try it. I put a thin layer on and noticed this weird smell. I’m so hyper aware of it it almost smells like acidy vomit. I’m disappointed because I don’t think it’s good maybe it’s expired? Idk. I want to return it and get one that’s not gross.
