I have not had this fan installed long but it looks great and moves a lot of air. 2 notes. 1) Do not buy a fan controller for this fan. It does not work with the fans electronics. The fan comes with its own remote to control it. If you want smart control of it, just buy a standard on/off switch without speed or dimming functionality. 2) be careful Which downrod you buy of you need a longer one. I bought a minka sure one and it was not threaded on the end so was cot compatible.

Easy installation and super quiet. We've used them for about 2 months in our Florida room and it definitely cools down the 90 plus temperatures. We've seen some other reviews that indicate that they turned on fan and nothing happened. Our experience is that the fan starts up slowly as the blades twitch slightly in both directions and then picks up speed and works fine. As the blades are very large it makes sense that it would require a moment to reach full rpm. Remote controls works fine and since both of our fans are on the same electrical circuit we have both programmed to just one remote. We have five other Minka Aire fans inside that we've used for over a 1 1/2 years with no issues.

Fan was great when it worked. It looked great. This fan was LARGE and fit my large patio perfectly. It was quiet and had a remote so you could select your speeds. It moved air pretty well. I was happy with it, until it all of a sudden stopped working. We had this fan for about 4 months before the motor all of a sudden stopped working. Fan won’t move in either direction. Hardly even used this fan. It was on a covered patio so it didn't get wet or anything. Even though this fan is supposed to come with a 1 year manufacturer warranty, and lifetime warranty on the motor, Minka-Aire will not process the warranty. They told me to contact Amazon. And Amazon will no longer accept returns since we purchased it 4 months ago. Amazon said I could still return it, but they will only refund 80% of what I paid for it. Save your money and do not buy this fan from Amazon. If you want this fan, buy it thru an authorized Minka-Aire dealer so you at least have a valid warranty on it. I tried to save a few bucks ordering this fan on Amazon, and now I’m out my money and then some because Amazon will not honor manufacturer warranties. I now have to buy another fan elsewhere.

Have only had for a few days and we haven't moved in yet. I was really worried when I got it because it is SO LIGHT. I was a little and still concerned it might not be heavy duty. But the thing is dead silent. I mean really!! It looks great, nice remote and has 6 settings. I will try and put an update on here next summer after we have used it. Right now I love it!

This is a great fan, quiet, nice looking, easy to operate, but it only lasted about a year. We were able to take it apart and found that the magnets inside are only glued to the housing. At first it started to make a really loud sound on speed 6, then over a couple weeks it started being loud on speed 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and then stopped working completely. We were able to screw a very tiny screw thru the housing into the magnets on each side to hold it in place. Now it works beautiful again. Not sure why the manufacturer thought glue was a good idea. Should be a 5 star fan but from my research on the internet, sounds like lots of people have the same problem after about a year. If your not mechanical and don't want to fix this problem, get a different fan.
