Butter Bell® Crock by L. Tremain French Ceramic Butter Keeper, Blue Trim

It is one of the best things I have ever bought for the kitchen, it is just the right size for the two of us, the butter stays soft and fresh. I change the water each morning after doing breakfast as then I don't have to think when did I do it last. Over the last couple of days the weather has had a change for the better but the butter has stayed perfect. It's a great invention. My only downside is the colour I really wanted was out of stock but this still looks fine on my work top.

Oh wow! Love this SOOO much I just had to get another! It works! simple but it works, butter is soft, fresh (you must change the water regularly) and you really get the taste of the butter and it’s spreadable. Perfection!

Talking with a friend about organic products, we thought of butter and the drawback of having to keep organic butter (or any butter for that matter) in the fridge and it being hard as nails when you want a smitch for your toast. I asked my mum how things were done in the days before fridges were commonplace and she said butter used to be kept in water so it remained fresh. It didn't take me long to come across the butter bell which is such a simple idea but now, every time I reach for the butter I am so thankful I have this little pot to hand. It's perfect, although a little small for a family perhaps, as it only takes about have a pack of butter at a time but I am sure almost anyone would love this fabulous addition to your kitchen worktop. I'm buying a few as Christmas gifts. I would recommend this to anyone; it's brilliant!

I love these butter crocks, they work perfectly, keeping the butter soft whilst fresh in the cupboard. I bought this one to replace my Le Creuset butter crock that got broken and now is no longer sold in the UK, unless you pay ridiculous shipping fees. My only issue with this one is that the lid does not sit properly, it slides off to one side, not far enough to be a problem, just annoying. I will probably be on the look out for another Le Creuset.

I bought one of these some years ago when in the states and unfortunately broke it last year. I have been looking for a replacement for some time when I came across this on amazon. It's perfect - it actually fits more butter in the lid than my previous one. Simple idea and, as I much prefer butter to spreadable margarine, I love that it keeps it fresh and easy to spread . Looks good too.

Aint it nice to get nostalgic now and then. A piece of kit that makes life a lot easier and it don't take batteries or need plugging in. Keeps you butter fresh and ready to spread without tearing holes in you toast. Very well made, the design of course retro. It arrived very well packed, my main concern being porcelain. It really is a pleasure to use and makes breakfast time somehow more civilised. Just change the water every three days and your butter stays fresh for quite a while, on the odd occasion you don't use it up quickly. I eventually bought several in different colour schemes I was so impressed. Would make a fantastic gift.

This item, apparently quite an "Old Fashioned" idea, works perfectly. Users should ensure the water temperature is kept low, particularly during warm weather and butter is always "Spreadable". The capacity is insufficient for an entire conventionally sized pack of butter but more than enough for several "Uses". If, like me, you're a person who prefers butter to margarine, this item is NOT a Godsend because I'm an Atheist - but it IS the Bees-Knees! Buy with confidence.

Love it! It inspired me to start making my own butter at home, and it keeps it nice and fresh, without the edges going that weird yellow some brands do once they are left in a regular butter dish over time. Well made butter bell, would absolutely purchase another should this one ever break

This looks lovely. Be aware that it holds just 1/4 pound of butter but takes up as much space on your table as brands that hold twice as much.

ha ha a little humor. all jokes aside, this is a great little butter crock. At first I didn't understand how it could keep butter fresh until I see the butter stands in the water. Works great. butter stays soft and ready to use. great purchase and would recommend to anyone who uses butter frequently.

I have several ceramic butter crocks, but this one is probably my favorite. It is easy to refill, and it functions perfectly so far. Perhaps the best feature is the comparatively hefty weight of the upper part of the unit, which is solid and heavy and signifies quality. This was an excellent purchase that does exactly what it is supposed to do and looks great while doing it. Thanks.

なんか、常温でバターをって思うとすっきりしなかったんですけど、意外に問題なく使えてます。ちょっと不便なのは中が見えないんでバターが減ってきたときにちゃんと水がええ感じになっているかどうかわかりにくいのと、どうしても空気がベル部分に残ってしまうことです。多めに水を入れて傾けて水を捨てるようにしていますが、酸化は防げない面もあるのではないかと・・・。 でもまぁバターが柔らかくて使いやすいし、便利ですよ。
