Spare parts for garden hose (2 pieces)

My cheap liberty hose reel has a swivel like this that broke the second time I used it. The issue was that the swivel is so still that it ends up unscrewing itself instead of turning at the reel. This one was the same, so I had to disassemble it and lubricate the o-rings prior to use. Seems like this is going to be a high maintenance item, as there is no swivel bearing on this at all, it just rides on those o-rings. They helpfully include extra o-rings for when they eventually fail. Overall I give it 4 stars for now, but may have to revise if this one doesn't hold up well.

I'm just waiting to get one of those special sets of pliers to replace the swivel elbow on my existing hose reel. These will probably work as replacements as they are standard sizes. These match the description very well. The brass is heavy and decently machined for the price point. There are some small divots and imperfects as you get with machined brass. The threads are fine and the swivel joint is very snug... it takes a little force to rotate it. Washers are of good quality with no flaws. It's great that you get a spare set, really a good value. Teflon tape is as you'd expect.

I have had for years a couple of special 75' water hoses attached to my house, one for the front yard, one for the back that are real rubber and black, and have been going strong for over ten years in the sun. The problem with them, even as soft as they are, they will not twist at all for the entire 75 feet. So when I saw these YELUN Garden Hose Reel Parts Fittings Swivel Elbow Connectors, I knew they would help make sure any water sprayers at the end of the hoses would be able to now lay flat, and that's exactly why I got them. Now I can twist any thing to lay flat, and the spigot end of the hose can now swivel around to make this happen. While a straight swivel would have been better, these elbows will work with a little more work. We love them and not one leak!

Important: This connector has ½” NPT male side and ¾” GHT female side. The female side can directly connect to any US standard garden hose, but male side can’t. I use an adapter on male side to connect it to my garden hose wheeler. The adapter is also available on Amazon. The female fitting on my garden hose wheeler has no swivel part, so I must rotate the water hose to connect. It can easily get loose if I move the wheeler around. This connector makes it almost impossible for the connection to get loose. This connector’s female part of assembly can rotate 360 degree which is very convenient for placing your wheeler. This connector seems to be made for industrial use, very sturdy. It probably will last forever.
