I bought three of these cameras in different colours for our girls for Christmas, and they were an immediate success. They absolutely loved having a camera of their own, and choosing different colours meant each of them could easily recognise which one belonged to them. The instant-print function is what makes this particularly enjoyable for children. They can take a photograph and produce a black-and-white print straight away without needing any ink cartridges. The digital version is also saved in colour on the included memory card, so the photos can still be viewed or transferred later. The included pens and stickers add to the experience because the printed photographs can be coloured in, decorated or given to friends and family. It makes the camera feel more creative and interactive than simply taking pictures on a phone or tablet. The difference in picture quality can be significant. Photographs taken outdoors, near a window or in a brightly lit room come out much clearer than those taken in dim lighting. It does have a flash, but good general lighting still gives the best results. It is worth remembering that this is designed as a fun children’s camera rather than a replacement for a phone or more expensive digital camera. The real appeal is the creativity and enjoyment of taking and printing photographs independently. All three cameras have been very well received, and buying one for each of our girls was definitely worthwhile. A brilliant Christmas or birthday gift, provided expectations about the picture quality are realistic and the children use it in plenty of light.

Bought this as a gift for my niece and it was an instant hit. The print quality is surprisingly good for a children’s camera, with clear images that actually look nice on paper, not just “toy quality”. The interface is very easy to use and intuitive, even for younger kids. She figured it out almost immediately without needing much help, which says a lot. The instant printing makes it extra fun and keeps kids engaged without needing a phone or tablet. Overall, it’s an excellent gift idea. Well built, fun to use, and delivers better results than expected for a kids’ instant camera.
