I'm not sure why the seller seems to be fixated on selling these (usually unisex items) specifically to men (with 3 different mentions of "Men" or "Mens" in the item title), but I find these useful as a female well enough to ignore that. Need to jog out with the trash bin, but don't want to put on your sneakers? Have a wet grass evening and want to go get the mail? Want to avoid getting a June bug on your toes as you traipse across a field? Can't avoid stepping into the creek to secure your trophy fish? Sure, you could put on a pair of your "regular" shoes and do most of that, but these little bootie beauties also provide a way to avoid having to wait for your shoes to dry out and are quick to get in and out of. Short enough that they aren't going to be annoying for those with jeans on, and long enough to keep several inches of standing water on the outside. These split the difference between shoes and mud boots quite well in my opinion. The short boot is easy to pull on and wide enough at the top to tuck your pants into the opening, but still close enough that you can drape most pants over the outside if you want to, as well. A handy pull-string and pinch clasp will snug up the top if you so desire, providing further water (and insect) resistance. The string on mine did fall out of the clasp the first time I used it, but was very easy to feed back in again. The sole is simple and textured enough to provide some traction, although I wouldn't suggest testing it's ice-gripping capabilities. These will probably keep you dry on ice, but not all that warm or securely upright. They might do well for a quick trip in winter between the barn and your house to keep a bit of snow out, but I wouldn't suggest them for hiking in cold weather or anything that requires low temperature long-term exposure. That's not what these are built for. Water resistance, plain and simple. These keep water out and your feet dry, in an easy to use and store set of boots. With the discount that I see now, they are affordable and worth the price. If you need short water boots, these will do nicely.

I was trying to convert men's size to women's but didn't do it right, I guess. They're way too big. They do seem great quality though.
