Will it fit on a Giant escape 2 disc? The rear mounting hole at the stay bridge is facing downwards, with drilling on the bottom side only

Hi. I don’t think they will fit to mounting under the seat stay bridge unless you’re prepared to drill a hole in the mudguard in the correct place. It wouldn’t be too hard a job, just requires a ‘measure twice, drill once approach.

Will these fit a 700c/29er wheel please?

Yep, in Europe many brands express 700c as 28”.

My fork doesn't have any separate mudguard style mounting holes, would these still work if attached to say.. the QR axle?
