Works great in getting rid of dandruff. Doesn’t need a lot, as one pump is sufficient for someone who has 2”-5” hair. We used it in conjunction with a silicone shower hair brush. It doesn’t require a lot of shampoo either.

A little background about me and my hair. My ethnicity gives me extraordinarily thick, slightly coarse, dense dark brown hair. I'm a strong believer in everything natural and fewer harmful chemicals. Striking a balance between what I consider beauty and keeping the ingredients natural has been a challenge. This shampoo gets my stamp of approval ,for the most part. The first two bottles I got worked well and smelled good, I was looking for something without silicone so I could try the curly girl method. The current bottle I have still seems to " clean"fairly well, maybe not quite as well. What I don't like about it is a strong acetone like odor that's some other reviewers have pointed out. My husband says it smells like apple cider vinegar though and I don't completely trust my own nose at times. Post-covid I think we should all question our sense of smells. Since smell hallucinations was a feature of that disease. I like that this cleans my hair but doesn't strip all the natural oils. Isn't too heavy, and since I'm not going for the Uber-hippie unwashed look, still makes me feel presentable and professional. I have no issue with the pump that comes with it. The ingredients list is slightly deceptive because vinegar and fruit extract are listed separately while the front claims that it's raw apple cider vinegar. However that's not a deal-breaker since I also purchase separately good raw apple cider vinegar to use on my hair as a conditioner and to remove mineral deposits from hard water. After an apple cider vinegar rinse my hair is always lighter fluffier and softer. I'd recommend it if you like more natural products: but remember if your hair is fine or different than mine you will not get the same results that I did.

This product is amazing for dandruff and does NOT give me acne on my scalp at all, which is absolutely vital to me. I've been using it for about six months now and am mostly happy with it. I use it for the suggested amount of time on the bottle instead of the usual shampoo lather and immediately rinse process. The downside of this product is that it leaves your hair *squeaky* clean, meaning it's stripped away EVERYTHING. When you wash your hair you want at least a portion of your natural hair oils to hang out afterwards. This ensures your hair stays healthy and hydrated. The squeaky clean sound means my hair is *not* retaining those vital oils after using this shampoo. I do plan on experimenting with different timing for the lather step, so will update if this effect changes with that. I only took one star off for this because I do have a really good leave in conditioning process so I'm not SUPER worried about this stripping my hair of oil. I also only wash my hair every other day and I think that helps. This also REALLY smells like apple cider vinegar and nothing else (it is an ACV shampoo, so) so if you're not okay with that scent I would go with something else. As far as I can tell, the scent does not linger after the product is rinsed out. Again, though, the dandruff control with this is INCREDIBLE. So much so that I am willing to adjust my conditioning process and products and my shampoo schedule to try and adapt to it's downfalls.
