The object of putting Castor Oil on your abdomen is to reduce inflammation, bloating, pain, and relax the smooth muscles of the stomach. I have inflammation and during these past weeks, my digestive system has been working better than ever. I am going to continue and will report back further advantages. But why use the belly pads? You could put Castor Oil on without them, but the process is not for those on the go. Lying down 10-15 minutes, you'll smooth on 1-3 tablespoons with your hands. You'll need to wash your hands off and put your wet rag on a plate so has nothing gets a sticky mess. After drying your hands, you will then put a piece of plastic wrap over the Castor Oil on your belly. Finally, put a hot water bottle or a heating pad over it. Quite an ordeal. Using the belly pads, you put 1-2 tablespoons on the pad, and like a band-aid, you put it over your belly button and go about your business. It's so simple! Wear it all day, and no one sees it or knows you are doing something healthy for yourself.

While it does keep the castor oil from staining clothing and dripping out, it left marks on my skin. I won't be repurchasing this one.

Great product! Easy to apply and remove. Simply add the castor oil and remove the backing to apply. Definitely a good value for the price.

It gave me an itchy rash ... I wore one over my belly button and had a terrible time taking it off the next day. It was super sticky my clothes were sticking to my stomach then it was full of lint!! I know it sounds funny but it’s not fun. Wear at your own risk!

I did not experience the issue others have reported. I found them to be sticky enough to stay on all night, not hard to remove (but I also always left the backing on one of the edges for easy peel in the morning), no irritation, no sticky residue. However, somehow they have removed my tan - my natural sun tan - which is so bizarre to me. I have an obvious pale square around my belly button where the patch was, almost as if I had laid outside with a patch on, but obviously I didn’t! I actually haven’t used these in months now because of that and the discoloration in my skin is still there. Needless to say, I’m looking forward to summer so I can even out my color and get rid of it!
