Canned Sardines in Olive Oil | 25/30 Sardines Per Tin | 1 x 130g Can

These were very delicious and delicate-not like the sardines in mustard you get from the grocery store. Very silky and savory-tasted like real fish but not fishy!

Ate these on a toasty tortilla with some lemon juice and sweet-spicy hot sauce. Beautifully arranged in the can - you can tell the brand is all about the way the product looks as well as tastes. Which brings me to the taste…. While I still prefer tinned fish to have a smoky flavor, these are probably the cleanest tasting whole sardines in my experience. Along with the smoked mackerel fillets, these strike me as a good benchmark for premium priced small sardines. From skin to meat to bones, everything is very tame and “close to the chest” so these would be good for those not very into tinned fish or looking for something mild. Will order (and eat) again.

So it happened. I bought these expensive sardines just to try. And now .... now all my other cans of sardines will seem so pedestrian. These are so good. The oil is very flavorful. The fish hold together when using chopsticks. Small gourmet sardines from Spain! I didn't want to eat the whole can but I couldn't help myself. I ate the top layer with various combos of rice/quinoa/pickled ginger/rice vinegar. I ate the second layer all by itself. Whooeee, they were good.

Great food product and the sardines are tasty, but they need to develop a better tin. The pull tab broke off and I had to get out a hand opener to finally get the can open. Not fun.

Good lord these are some good sardines. Best I ever had. Tender, tasty, great olive oil. They're pricey but they back it up with a delicious product.
