Alex Evenings Women's Long Rosette Mother of The Bride Dress with Short Sleeves, Formal Gown, Wedding Guest (Plus Size)

Like others, this dress arrived well packaged and when I tried it on, I fell in love! It is cut generously although true to size guide (give thought to sizing down). The fabric has give, and the princess seams are very flattering to a mature woman's figure. I needed this gown for my son's wedding and it will be perfect! It is classy and elegant. Finally the ribbon floral design and the sequins are stunning on the lace layer. The "lining" is a stretchy silky polyester. I purchased the blue and the color is lovely. I am only 5'3" and will need to hem it about 4-5 inches if I wear lower heels . Even if I wear high heels, it would need hemming. If you need any adjustments, the style works well for tailoring. I feel extra lucky as I purchased this gown on sale and for the price, I feel I got a huge bargain.

I am 5’1” and weigh 177 pounds. I ordered this in a 16W. It is beautiful on. It is very forgiving. I don’t feel overweight in this dress. Because of my height, a lot has to come off the length but I expected that with any dress I purchased. Other than the length, the fit is perfect. I feel beautiful in it and can’t wait to wear it.

My son and his bride chose Gatlinburg TN, in the winter, to get married and this dress was warm and comfortable. It hangs well and was a great unaltered fit for my taste, the only issue is I didn't have time to have it hemmed in length and it was a little long on me (I'm 5'6"}. The dress does have sparkle to it in the form of mini sequins, which made it just right for photo taking. Alex Evenings has always been one of my favorite labels and this dress did not disappoint in color, size, fit or weight of material. This was the dress I wanted from the start, but all I could find in this pattern was short sleeves, it was perfect still. It is lined, has the perfect number of rosettes and works as a formal, mother of the groom, dress. It is not scratchy and runs a little roomy, which I like. I could have worn a size smaller, but didn't have time to keep searching, it was a rather last-minute purchase. I had another dress purchased but it looked cheap compared to the wedding party, so I changed my mind the Monday before the wedding and went with this dress instead, very glad I did. It did not snag and was wrinkle free, even for a poor packer like me.

I absolutely LOVE this dress - so pretty! I got it in eggplant for my daughter's wedding in October. The picture here made the dress look more like fuchsia, but it is a beautiful shade of eggplant/aubergine. Extremely flattering shape for my big belly and overall squishy body. Neckline is high enough to be modest without looking Victorian. It has a nice amount of stretch to it so that it doesn't feel tight or restrictive - even the sleeves are comfortable. It's several inches too long, but at 5' 3", I expect that.The biggest problem was the sizing! I went by the manufacturer's chart in the pictures, and I fell right between 18W and 20W. The advice I saw was to order down, so I got the 18W. It was enormous! I could pull several inches away from my waist. Just to be safe, I then ordered both the 16W and 14W. The 16W was still way too roomy. The 14W fits nicely - not tight at all, anywhere. It's got some breathing room, and eating room, too. I have not worn a 14 anything in decades - their sizing is weird.

This dress was beautiful. I wore it to my son‘s wedding. The color was gorgeous.

Perfect for mother of the bride. Between the princess seaming, the stretchy base, and the textured surface, it hides all the lumps, bumps, and jelly tummy of an older woman. I even gained 10 pounds between purchase and the wedding and it still fit great.I’m 5’8” and weigh 230 - size 18W fit perfectly. The length was great with the comfortable silver flats I already owned. If I were shorter, it would have had to be hemmed or I would have had to wear heels.It was comfortable to wear all day long and I even helped clean up after the wedding without having to change.

Not flattering on me however one of my friends had the exact same dress on and it looks very nice on her

Fabric itches arms when placed against dress. Very pretty and original but not comfortable for me
