I learned quickly that this incense is best used, in my experience, with charcoal rather than a flameless diffuser of any sort. The smoke is almost milky and very satisfying, and the fragrance is still on the softer side even when burning it. Then it lingers in the air, and it's quite soothing for my stressed-out little soul. There's a tiny bit of a ritual to it that also seems to relax me. It does burn faster on charcoal, so be warned if you're hoping for more longevity. In that case, definitely go with a flameless incense warmer if you've got one. It's way out of my normal price range, so I likely won't revisit it, but it was quite nice while I had it.

I’ve read some reviews from other users here, and I really appreciate the input from more experienced agarwood enthusiasts. It was interesting to hear one expert mention that this wood might be enhanced—but even if so, it’s done skillfully. I can’t say for sure whether this product is enhanced or not, since I have almost no experience with wood incense besides palo santo. That said, it does smell really good. However, I noticed the listing originally had no reviews, and once reviews started posting, the listing was removed. I do wonder if this was a way to boost their store overall—which, in my personal opinion, sellers have the right to do—but I found this particular listing a little suspicious, especially given the product: oud wood (of course). Need I say more? Anyway, I still have to write my review, of course, to honor Vine guidelines. Let’s get into my analysis of this… oud? Hmm 🤔 After some research, I learned that “Quinan wood” is actually a rare type of agarwood. Agarwood itself is highly sought-after and valuable, so I do question why such a precious material would appear on Amazon Vine at all. From what I understand, sellers pay Amazon to list their products on Vine to get reviews. So, logically, if you had rare agarwood, wouldn’t you want to sell it to perfumery houses or specialty buyers instead of paying to list it on a platform where you essentially give it away for free just to get reviews? To me, that seems like one option outweighs the other. Not only that, but as other users mentioned, the product was stored in a very thin, flimsy plastic jar, and indeed it was. Which surprised me. For such a rare, highly sought-after, and expensive perfumery ingredient, I would expect it to be vacuum-packed or at least packaged in something sturdier than such thin plastic. That’s not to take away from the product itself, which honestly smells incredible. So, it’s hard to say—what’s the real story behind this product?

Uh wasnt sure what to expect with this one. It does have a lovely natrual spicy smell. The cubits of wood have random holes drilled into them to baby them up. Not a very strong smell.

This is a nice low cost way to get involved into some oud. I am not educated about oud in person but I know a lot about it from studying perfumery - so I can say the price is low, I assume the quality matches and it has a good smell! The chips are a good size for burning/heating and I think the amount you get for the price is a good value. Great place to start!

I've been a longtime fan of Palo Santo wood and burn it on a regular basis. When I discovered this agarwood, I thought I'd give it a try, and I'm so glad I did—it smells absolutely amazing. I use a little torch lighter to heat a piece up until it's good and smoking. The scent is awesome and a really nice change from Palo Santo. I even have a piece on a burn tray in my bathroom to keep it smelling pleasant, and I'll light a piece in my living room every once in a while for aromatherapy. I still love Palo Santo, but this is a wonderful new addition to my routine. I would highly recommend ordering some to give it a try—you just might love it.
