Two stars only because installation is easy and stays in place. I chose to use the included double-sided adhesive instead of peeling the paper backing off. As I bought the "large" size which is two of the 12x12 pieces held together by the paper backing, not one 12x24 piece, I doubled up on the adhesive thickness and used more than recommended per piece. I suggest buying more adhesive separately to have enough. Now for the negative... This is a highly misleading product description verging on false advertising. This product is sold and labeled as "soundproof". [BSHEAD 12 Pack Large Fold Soundproof Wall Panels] The box has depictions and statements of sound-reducing qualities. However, when you open the box, you get a small paper card stating that these are NOT intended to act as a sound reduction product. If I had thought to save the card, I would have attached a picture or quoted directly. Now, I'm not silly enough to believe that these panels would actually act as proper soundproofing, however, I did expect SOME noticeable level of sound absorption, or sound deadening effect. There was absolutely no change in sound absorption with these installed, even when paired with the layer of egg crate foam these were intended to replace. I ended up buying 3 boxes just to complete the wall I had already started, and give them the best possible chance of having any sound reduction effect. I figured I was in too deep already anyway, might as well finish the wall. These should be considered and treated as decorative only! If you are an apartment dweller and want to add some color or design variation, but your lease prohibits painting or damaging walls, these could be a solution. Be sure to test one of the adhesives on your wall before committing, and don't use the peel and stick method.

i've acquired, reviewed, and owned quite a few types of acoustic panels, and the adhesive foam ones are among my faves. as a renter, in lieu of using the included adhesive, i keep the paper backing intact and add nano tape, which produces a pretty spotless takedown for end-of-rental maneuvering and easy hold-to-wall use in the interim. with a pretty classic design and decent density, this set provides nice soundproofing which, like other sets of the ilk, would likely require multiple sets to finish a wall or a small studio. 5 stars!

I am constantly upgrading my workspace to create a more "audio recording friendly" environment. These panels looked like a solid solution for my ceiling above my computer station. When they arrived, I really liked the quality of the board. At 1/2" thick, it fits nicely against the other boards and fixtures I have in my room. The adhesive on the back is strong and works well as long as you get them in the right spot on the first application. The only issue that I have is that the hinge in the middle of them puts some counter pressure against the adhesive. I had one panel I had to adjust a bit after initially placing it. The hinged area kept pulling away from the wall slightly when I got the placement corrected. For the rest of the panels, I set them flat and put a book or two on them that was just heavy enough to hold them flat. I left them that way for a day and they went on much easier after that. Other than that, these are very nice sound panels and do a great job conditioning the sound in my room.

Easy to install with simple peel and stick application. The 6 large panels do cover a decent area, although I needed 2 packages for the space needed. The modern look and feel is nice, but having installed them in the garage for my son's band to practice, it reduces the noise very little. He claims they help when recording, but the foam isn't super dense so I don't expect a long-lasting lifespan with these for this purpose. Which is okay, because ... teen bands don't last.
