Q: What is the country of origin and what olive variety is used to make it?

The country if origin is IT TN GR which is Italy, Tunisia and Greece. All certified non GMOs and organic *usda*. Bottled in Italy. Does not say type of olives but the oil exceeds standards of international olive oil council.

Q: This bottle of carapelli olive oil was not sealed. the camp/plug came off easily without breaking a seal. was i sent a used bottle of olive oil?

Unsure but, check volume and quality, exposure to air, request replacement and discard if smell or. Taste is even remotely odd.

Q: Why is this oil $23.00 and the same exact oil at Walmart is $11.95.

The bottle offered on Amazon is a full liter bottle, while Walmart only sells the 750 ml size bottle. This accounts for part of the additional cost above the $12 price at Walmart. If Walmart sold the liter size bottle with the same cost per ounce, it would sell for about $16.00. The remainder of the $23 would be single bottle shipping costs and markup for the lower volume vendor.

ME TOO! I have used olive oils, from all over the world, for many many years. Carapelli unfiltered is the BEST. Flavor in dressings is the best, great for frying at a decent temperature without burning, delicious with a good balsamic and parmagiano for bread dripping. I scour web sites to make sure I can always find this.nothing better
