Review: Excellent umami and versatility for a low sodium product - As someone with allergies to soy and wheat, I started using coconut aminos to help season food that I would have otherwise used soy sauce on (or shoyu for those of us in Hawaii). I’m now hooked on this stuff, especially because this particular product is also lower sodium so I can use it to cook for my mom too. It adds umami and enough flavor that it helps keep food from becoming bland even when I don’t use any other salt in my recipes. It’s also versatile enough that you can use this to make other sauces - you can add citrus, garlic infused oil, mayo, and many other things to make your dishes more creative. I haven’t noticed the bottles leaking in transit at all and I find the quality to be consistently good. Review: Love it - Love the taste, fantastic alternative for soy sauce which for health reasons I cannot eat, amazing as salad dressings or in stir fry

Fantastic low sodium and soy free alternative to soy sauce, but a bit pricey
My daughter has CHF and has been put on a low sodium diet. For a family who already eats and cooks using very little salt, finding new ways to reduce our sodium intake is a challenge. Coconut aminos is a huge help and this particular brand, has the lowest sodium content than any others I've found. The taste is fantastic and almost indistinguishable from soy sauce. I say almost, because this pulls to the sweeter side vs the definite salty taste of soy sauce. For us, it's pretty much indistinguishable because in general, the recipes we use that call for soy sauce (teriyaki, korean kal-bi, sesame salad dressing), all also call for sugar anyway. The only time we definitely notice a difference, is with sushi. Even then, it is not at all unpleasant to get a touch of sweetness with a bite of sushi, especially if you also enjoy a dab of wasabi in every bite too. Based on some negative reviews that mention mold, I purposely purchased these 4 small bottles instead of the large gallon size. One bottle has lasted me over a month in the refrig now, and it shows no signs of mold or degradation. There are several aminos options, and previous to purchasing this Coconut Secret brand through Amazon, I bought the Big Tree Farms brand at Safeway. The taste of both the Big Tree Farms and Coconut Secret are comparable. I will continue to use this Coconut Secret brand based on it's lower sodium content. Additionally, although soy is not an issue with us, a friend who is soy intolerant uses this vs Bragg Liquid Aminos because coconut aminos is also soy free. As a sodium comparison per tsp: Soy sauce - 300mg Low sodium soy sauce - 177mg Soy sauce tamari - 335mg Bragg Liquid Aminos - 320mg Big Tree Coco Aminos - 160mg Coconut Secret - 90mg

Good substitute for Soy sauce!
I use this for especially Brussell Sprouts and shrimp bake it is delicious and I must use 1/3 cup of it every time we have it! Coconut Aminos is great on stir fries and any time a recipe calls for soy sauce it is an excellent substitute. My husband likes it and he won’t eat much that I fix for myself!

Best I’ve Tried
I don’t think it’s a replacement for soy sauce, but I think it’s a good thing to have on hand, especially when making marinades or sauces. It’s perfect when seeking to add a hint of sweetness without adding something like honey or syrup, and it’s far less sweet compared to the others I’ve tried. This is because if you look at the carbs per serving, this is on the lower end. I have no complaints.
