The ability to upload videos directly to social media was one of my main wants. The app for sharing videos and pictures was easy to download, and connecting the camera to the app was simple. The slow-motion feature is great for capturing his skateboard moves. The camera is lightweight, and the size is great for taking on the go. It fits easily in his backpack. The handle helps steady the video, along with the anti-shake feature. The included microphone allows him to create amazing tutorial videos, and the sound quality is crisp and clear. The 8K video quality is decent for the price. The camera charges pretty fast, and the battery lasts for hours. This is an okay camera that got me through my first video shoot. The included external microphone helps a lot with reducing camera handling noise. The sound recorded was rather quiet though. There is an adjustable gain slider on the mic. I left it set at 0. If I use this camera again I will increase the gain to hopefully pick up better sound. The mic also has it's own power switch, which caused some problems. A few times I would turn on the camera and forget to turn on the mic, so I ended up with a few clips with no sound at all or no sound for the first part until I realized the mic was off and turned it back on. The video quality is okay at best. Everything was slightly overexposed, causing the color to be slightly washed out. I'm not sure it's true 4K, either. I didn't even try 8K. My friend was shooting some behind the scenes and B-roll on her iPhone at 4K and her footage looked better than what I got with this camera. The controls on the camera are good. The tilting viewscreen is very handy. The touchscreen interface worked well. The tilting viewscreen is one of the biggest advantages over shooting on a phone. It's much easier to get high or low angle shots when you don't have to be directly behind the phone to see what you are shooting. Being able to use SD cards for storage instead of your phone's internal storage is another plus. Unfortunately, there seems to be a big gap between ~$200 cameras like this and higher quality $1000+ cameras, without much in between. It's a good deal for the price, just be aware that the video quality might not be the greatest and you may want a better external mic.
