This is an economical way to benefit from proper potassium chloride supplementation (e.g., electrolyte balance, blood pressure regulation, muscle and nerve health, bone health). However, it is very salty and can be used as a substitute for sodium (table salt) if you are on a low sodium diet.

I used the recommended dosage in my cost saving homemade electrolytes this AM, which consists of potassium chloride, magnesium malate and Redmond salt. I soon began having GI discomfort that led to explosive diarrhea that has continued intermittently for two hours now. I google inquired if either ingredient caused such distress and potassium chloride is the culprit, as it can be an irritant, especially if taken on an empty stomach, which is what I did. It is recommended to start out at a lower dose, taken with food. I want to continue taking the supplement but will be taking it with these recommendations I was provided. I think it’s a good product, maybe just be cautious starting out.
