Straight from France Genuinely French, Non-GMO Certified Caffeine Free Instant Chicory Powder, Coffee Substitute Rich in Prebiotic Fibers, All Natural Coffee Alternative Made from Chicory Roots 7 Oz

I first tried chicory "coffee" at a restaurant in Staten Island, a few months ago. I'd eaten chicory in protein bars and other foods, but never had it as a beverage. I rather liked it and decided to start buying some to make at home. As with coffee I make at home, instant is important to me. I found this and also another brand that uses a tea bag system. However, the tea bags have to steep for 5-7 minutes while this Straight From France product is really instant, in that it dissolves once hot water is poured over it. This is therefore very easy to prepare. I scoop some into a cup, add some date syrup, and pour boiling water over it. Then I add some milk. If I want some caffeine, I add a small amount of instant coffee. By itself, this product does have a slightly more bitter taste than instant coffee. But if you are okay with adding a little bit of sweetener, all of that gets neutralized. Then it is very pleasant-tasting. I also like this because it does not bother my stomach. And because it has no caffeine on its own, I can drink this later in the afternoon or evening.

I’ve been diagnosed with long covid and POTS and need to cut back on my caffeine. Heard this was a great option but I was very hesitant. I’m quite pleased with this purchase! IMO it taste better than coffee. Took me sometime to get the measurements right but 2 1/8 teaspoon for each cup seems to work well for me. I add frothed milk mixed with Laird mushroom powder creamer and it’s quite lovely. Highly recommend. obviously still not coffee, but still satisfying to maintain the behavior without the stimulant.

I'm not tolerating coffee very well anymore. In the morning, especially when winter comes and I want something warm and comforting, tea or herbal tea just doesn't cut it. Cocoa is okay but has too many calories to have multiple cups in a day. If you are looking for something like I was, THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED. It's soooooo good, smooth and lovely, warming and comforting—a substantial and tasty cup of goodness that feels and you can treat just like coffee. Maybe even better because it isn't so acidic and chickory has many health benefits. And that jar is huge! It's even a good bargain. I love this product! Update: Chicory is also naturally high in the soluble fiber inulin, which can be good for gut health and fostering the growth of friendly gut bacteria. I genuinely enjoy and appreciate this excellent product, I'll be ordering my 4th jar soon!

I've tried chicory powder before but this one is the richest tasting and so smooth. It has a toasty, slightly sweet flavor, with no bitterness. If you want to reduce caffeine in your hot beverages you might enjoy this. I use two teaspoons to a mug of hot water and add a little creamer and either sugar or agave nectar, but you can also enjoy it's mild, almost nutty flavor on it own, too. This does not irritate OAB like coffee or tea does, in my experience, so that's a bonus. I will buy this again.

LOVE THIS!! I have used Chicory Root granules for years in my French Press as a replacement for coffee, and finally decided to try this instant powder. It's WAY better than I expected. I am amazed at how easy it is to make and how flavorful it is. I know I will be a repeat customer after this purchase.
