Cushion can not get water on it, the water will get inside and you can not get it out. Small rain storm went through and I didn't take it inside, I've had it hanging for over a week still water inside. I'll need to get a different Cushion to use the hanging lounge. My other lounge cushions get wet and dry very quick. I'll check and see if Martha Stewart has any that fits.

I like the look of it, and it's very comfortable to lay in. But unfortunately its design comes with some problems. First off, yes, the fabric is sort of water repellent, but only to a point. Its hammock-like design gets the better of it here because if it gets rained on for a prolonged period of time, water collects in the middle of it like a bowl. The longer it sits there, the more it seeps into the fabric itself, and the longer it will take to dry. I ordered this several weeks ago and it got rained on once. It has still not completely recovered. For this reason, you will likely have to anticipate rain storms and bring the fabric in where it won't get wet. Second, the fabric of the umbrella has been blown off multiple times. By moderate wind speeds at that. Need I say more? It was tied up using the included Velcro, too. It's just not a strong fit given that it relies on tension to stay in place. Third, don't buy the white version, especially if you live in a heavily wooded area. If it gets rained on, it will leave stains, and any kind of debris that falls on it will be extremely visible by contrast. My mistake was thinking that it wouldn't get as hot in the sun as darker colors would. If that's a concern of yours, get the grey one. Also, not really a problem for me, but it is kind of tricky to get in and out of this thing. If you're older or just not as spry or agile in general, maybe try finding another form factor which is easier to use.

This is one of the easiest products to assemble that I've encountered. Parts are all vacuum packed and identified and it includes the 2 hex wrenches needed. If assembling on a deck, make sure you lay down a ground cloth so no parts fall down between the boards. (Yep. That happened.) You do need 2 people to assemble it (1person could do it but thats asking for frustration). There are complaints about the cushions retaining water. They can get a little waterlogged but toweling the excess and hanging to dry solves that. Cushions are easy to remove and replace. I use a giant sized garbage bag to cover the cushions, slipped right over the longue, and secured w a brick, and that works nicely. I've had back and hip problems and this longue is a dream for that. I keep thinking, where has this been all my life?
