Good tomato flavor but very bland. But, I bought the product for its low sodium content and I can now add my own spin on it and still control the sodium. For example, add pepper, cayenne, dill, oregano, parsley, also diced tomatoes and even no sodium ketchup. Also use half water/half milk. I also use to help make sauces/gravy. It's very versatile as are the other unsalted varieties.

I love that this has only 50 mg of sodium per serving--my mom is on a salt-restricted diet, so I'm always looking for food items that offer unsalted or low-salt versions. I was thrilled to see Campbell's offers this on one of my favorite recipe staples. I make several dishes that utilize tomato soup, but the regular version is loaded with salt. I gave this a try and while it definitely meets the low-sodium requirement, the taste is a bit off. Not terrible, just not great--a little bland, a little too sweet and more acidic than the regular version. I make it work, but I find I have to add some salt back in to counteract the sweetness (about 1/8 tsp/can). Obviously, tastes better with more salt, but that defeats the purpose. I don't think I'd eat this on its own, but as part of a dish that utilizes meat, veggies and other no-salt seasonings to bump up the flavor, it's very doable.

Two of the four cans were dented badly not to happy about that!. Two of the four cans I ordered were badly dented.I am going to keep them rather than go to all the trouble of sending them back. The soup is very good and I like the fact that it is low sodium.

Ok, I normally buy the heart healthy tomato soup with reduced sodium but thought I'd try this. A can is 2.5 servings of soup. A serving has 12 grams of sugar of which 8 grams is added sugar so each serving has 2 teaspoons of added sugar. Campbell's heart healthy soup has about 1 teaspoon of added sugar per serving. This soup is really sweet, too sweet in my opinion. I guess they were trying to make up for the lack of sodium with sugar.
