Best handheld
I had the Lenovo legion go first and even though that was a fantastic device. The one x player is just so much better. I can play AAA games down to 5% battery and it still runs smoothly. The fan set to auto is barely noticeable. I highly recommend anyone that is considering getting a handheld to get this.

4.5 stars for the right person!
If I could give this device a 4.5 rating, I would. For the price and compared to its competitors, the One XPlayer X1 offers a great value. The device is well-built, with a solid tablet and a keyboard that feels well-constructed. However, the touchpad could be improved in terms of quality. It’s smooth but small, and clicking requires excessive force, making it more suitable for tapping rather than clicking. The controllers are a mixed bag. The design is great, they are easy-to-snap-on and the buttons have a satisfying click to them. However, they feel hollow and light, with little resistance from the joysticks. Adding more weight to the controllers could have improved their feel, but the tablet itself is already quite heavy for a handheld device. The display is fantastic, with a fast refresh rate, plenty of brightness, and great colors. The panel is natively portrait, which is disappointing but not a major issue for me. The speakers could be better, but they’re not bad. Good for most tasks but I’m not listening to music through the X1’s speakers. The port selection for this form factor is impressive. It includes two USB-C 4 ports, a USB-A 3.2 port, a MicroSD port, a 3.5mm audio port, and the lesser-known OCUlink port (primarily used for external GPUs but it frees up the USB4 ports in that use case). The performance of this device is excellent. It’s incredibly convenient to adjust the TDP of the device on the fly. I often disable the CPU’s turbo boost, set the TDP to 10W, and adjust the brightness to around 30-40%. This combination provides great performance for light tasks while ensuring good battery life. For gaming, enabling image scalers like FSR significantly improves the performance of AAA games. Ghost of Tsushima runs well on this device and for less demanding games like Balatro and Peglin, I was also able to achieve excellent battery life. I highly recommend this device to individuals who are in the middle of their device choices or those who want to consolidate their portable devices. Perhaps you own or desire an ROG Ally and a Surface Pro; I believe this is a great option for you. Alternatively, if you need something for school but also enjoy gaming, this could be a suitable for you. If you strictly want a handheld for gaming and DON’T prioritize having a portable large screen, I suggest exploring other options, but if you have a mixed-use case scenario like mine, I believe you will be satisfied with the OneXPlayer X1.

Does not shut down correctly
Won’t turn on when it’s supposed too also won’t turned off when it’s shutdown and drains the battery while you think it’s off.

Top of line Handheld PC. Does not beat Z13 but thats not really a handheld to compare.
After having it for 5 days it was easy to setup. Somehow I didn't need to re-install windows. It did take awhile to update but seems it had May 2025 version updated for Windows 11 Home. This handheld does not come with the N version of Windows. It comes with full version of Windows 11 Home. I will upgrade to Pro to get rid of the Home junk. I installed Xbox, Steam, and some other games and runs flawlessly as if I am gaming on my machine. Since I didn't need to re-image the machine when I received it everything ran smoothly. I see a massive difference in performance from the Asus ROG Ally X. The screen is massive but it works perfect for me. The machine runs smooth on 32GB of memory and please get the 2TB version which is 100 bucks more unless you know how to upgrade it. The controllers are amazing. Something you have to get use to which is not hard. I actually like the feel of the handhelds unlike the Alley X or the OneXPlayer Pro Mini. The keyboard quality is spot on and feels luxury. The track pad is smooth but the pushing of the left and right click buttons are very hard to do but I won't deduct a star for this. If you got the money for something you don't need a laptop and you play games on controllers this is the machine you need to buy. Its expensive but it has the most up to date hardware out there. There is the Z13 handheld out there but that feels like a regular laptop even though its considered a gaming tablet. You can use any controller on the Z13 but this handheld PC works flawlessly. The screen is in 4k and is very crisp and you throw anything at it. Anyways it runs all of my games on 60fps after tweaking settings. The OneXPlayer does not auto load any settings so you have to load their software before gaming but I actually like this as sometimes I don't need to run the software as settings do save. Also the best part is you can use Steam as if you are using it on a desktop. It does not go to full screen mode. You can tell it to do this instead. Overall 5 stars for me. I can not be any happier to get this. It was well worth the investment and looking forward to the gaming in next 5 years. I don't need a big laptop or do I need anything past this handheld. It works for me. I highly recommend this if you got the funds for it. I would say top of line for a handheld PC that actually has real Windows 11 Home on it and does not load much bloatware. You do have to update the handheld through Windows 11 setup and takes awhile but does not corrupt anything. I do not see how people say to re-image it. You just let it update as it takes awhile to update. After update the machine runs flawless. I didn't re-image the handheld or need to but that is up to you if you want a fresh install. The handheld does not come with bloatware except for the systems drivers and OneXPlayer software, Steam, and standard windows features that comes with a fresh install.
