Fantastic coffin handled Bowie knife ,great value
Feel: I just received this handmade coffin handled Bowie knife and it exceeded my expectations! It arrived well packaged and was very sharp out of the box,it's blade is over 9 inches long and I love large blades!it's polished and the grinds and angles look like a factory made knife ,I pictured it next to one of my Cold Steel Trailmasters to show size and I love the coffin handle! This is a serious fighting or self defense knife and looks about 5 mm thick! I also ordered another knife from the same company, the Damascus steel curved Bowie knife and I highly recommend this one the handle is big enough for my XXL hands and their are no hot spots or sharp edges anywhere and the leather sheath is actually pretty good, wish they made one 12 inches or longer ,the REG 49 I received was damaged, cracked wood handle and a cut where they put the knife into the sheath, very disappointed and how it passed quality control is a valid question โ the package was delivered in good condition so it wasn't from shipping, just check these well ,I returned it because in that condition it would be worth half price or less imo

Quality, of finish and design!
This is a well made Bowie from the scales to the finish on the blade itself. Very sharp! The style of the handle is reminiscent of antique knives I have seen. The only problem as in most cases is the inconsistency of the quality of leather used in the sheath. I purchased 2 and the style and way it secures the knife is different. Iโm giving it five stars because of the knifes quality. DC

Matt Easton's Bowie Knife by Poshland. How's that for a title?
It's not bad it's just not what it's supposed to be.... So I just picked up one of these knives. Cost was $50 US on Amazon. Blade was as expected. Spanish Notch has been moved back a bit. Slits bout 50/50 in the Ricasso. Fitment is kind of poor. Blade guard has been reduced in size. The swelling at the back of the coffin handle has been deleted. Probably to increase production. sheath is of poor Pakistani quality. Very thin leather on my example. Blade guard is put on a crooked. Tang stands proud over the wooden scales. And is quite sharp. I'd be happy to send it to Matt for a review. Anyhoo that's my experience with this company at this time. Hope you folks get a more correct copy from this company.

Poor quality Knife And Very badly Crafted Leather Sheath!
I bought this knife because I wanted a truly functional, full tang, coffin handled "Bowie" knife to wear on hikes. This one, with its D2 tool steel blade, seemed to be the nicest of everything I've looked at here on Amazon in its price range. I know that throughout the years, there have been quality issues, and they've changed the design of both the knife and sheath several times, so I was a bit hesitant. It feels very comfortable in my hands, and it's very well balanced. The plunge grinds at the ricasso are asymmetrical but not noticeable unless you're looking for imperfections. It came sharp, but not nearly as sharp as it could have been. In the video, it is mentioned that the blade has a "false edge." Mine did not come with a false edge. It came with a swedge. (An unsharpened suggestion of an edge on the spine of a blade is called a swedge. A sharpened edge on the spine of a blade that does not run the full length of the blade is called a false edge). To clarify, a false edge is sharpened. The handle scales are decently finished, but not without minor asymmetrical chamfer flaws. They are pinned tightly to the full tang, however, the pins are not symmetrical, nor are they brass as shown or stated in the video. Rather, the pins are aluminum. The handle is not quite shaped like the one shown in the photos and described in the video. The exposed tang sides of the handle of mine do not have the concave surfaces as shown. Rather, mine has straighter surfaces. The hand guard came as advertised and rock solid with a nicely polished finish. The leather sheath is a disaster and is very disappointing with its thin, narrow, riveted on belt loop, foam welt and an overall dry leather build. This cost saving, poor construction seems to be the norm of late, especially with low-end imported knives like this one. I contacted Poshland through their website and asked if they could make me a proper sheath. I even stated that I'd be willing to pay for their services. They did make a sheath to my specs and sent me photos of it, but the stitching was horribly done on both sides. When I pointed out these issues and declined, I was then offered a different sheath they had laying around, and it wasn't any better than the one that originally came with the knife. I was then told it would be redone. Finally, after nearly a month of waiting, they sent me two photos, front and back, of the completed sheath looking like it's made the way a leather sheath should be made in the first place, with a one piece, wide belt loop, but I couldn't see the welt to tell if it was the leather that I requested, and the belt loop looked like it was very thin leather, so in an email reply, I asked for a photo of the side to visually confirm a leather welt and leather thickness. I haven't heard back from them since. I've abandoned my efforts, completed my review and purchased a black, quality constructed, top grain leather sheath on EBay from Randy's Knives and Kydex (Photo attached). Although the knife is functional, I gave 3 stars because of the discrepancies in the knife I received vs. the one advertised in the video and the very poorly made leather sheath that accompanies the knife. I also factored in that they tried to sell me one that had horrible stitching, then one that was no different from the one that came with the knife. Also, in my opinion, it should not take 30+ days for a knife manufacturer to build a simple, properly made leather sheath. Had the knife actually came as advertised with a properly built leather sheath, I would have gladly given a 5 star review. In my opinion based on decades of experience with knives and leather sheaths, this is a mediocre piece, at best that I would not and could not recommend unless one either makes or obtains a proper leather sheath and doesn't mind lesser craftsmanship than advertised. I'm certain that I'll never buy another Poshland knife again.
