Should be a key part of your nail health routine!
I purchased this cream because I deemed 2026 the year of the nail rebuild! I had spent the better part of 10 years using gel manicures and recently gel strips or press ons, and my nails were like brittle rubber. They would bend, peel, chip, break completely off. So I started with cuticle oil, added in an OPI nail serum, added in ISDN silica serum, and I did see a big improvement. But they would still break, which made me feel like I had to go back to the rubber base gel I was using. I figured it couldn't hurt to try this creme and OMG the results are crazy. It really helped seal the deal for me and now I can wear my nails bare, do yard work, go about my life and they are so strong! In my entire life I have never seen them this way. They really are as hard as hooves! I believe all of the items I use have helped together, but I love the unscented option and appreciate how great my nails look. I'm very glad I found this and highly recommend it!

Good Ingredients, Non-greasy, and lanolin-free
The Onyx brand has a solid reputation, and their Hard as Hoof Nail Cream is no exception. My order arrived on time and in good condition. I bought the unscented cream which didn’t smell of added fragrances. It did have a light smell just by nature of the ingredients. It didn’t phase me. The texture is light and smooth. It massages into my cuticles and nails well, absorbs quickly, and leaves no greasy feeling. I also like that I can use it on bare nails or over polish. I’m allergic to lanolin (a wool-based ingredient) and wool, so I needed something without that. This fit the bill. As expected, it hasn’t caused any irritation. My nails tend to peel, split, and get brittle. I appreciate that Onyx Hard as Hoof Nail Strengthening Cream has ingredients to heal my nails and dry cuticles - shea butter, coconut oil, silk protein, jojoba seed oil, safflower oil, beeswax, vitamin E, provitamin B5, retinol. It has already helped soften my dry cuticles. I haven’t used it long enough yet to speak to long-term strengthening results but I expect that my nails will improve considerably. I’ll update this with long-term results after I’ve been using it longer. So far, I’m happy with it.

Great product that actually works.
This stuff is amazing! Seriously. I've had splitting nails on both big toes for years, and one worse than the other. I sure wish I had taken a before photo. Years ago my podiatrist said there wasn't anything to do for a nail splitting from the top, vertically down to the cuticle. He offered nothing. I fretted for years watching it get worse. Then I tried Kerisol. It's an oil treatment with tea tree oil. Used half the bottle following the directions and saw no improvement. That was 2 years ago. By now my right toenail has split about halfway down and has a notch in the top edge. My daughter had a jar of this at her house, unopened. I asked her if I could have it and she said she wasn't using it. The instructions say to apply it 3 x a day and that it can be applied over nail polish, which sounded odd. But the instructions say to apply it to the base, under the tip and around the edges, so the polish doesn't' matter. But when I don't have polish on I also rub it into the nail. I started with 3x a day for about 2 weeks, then went down to just morning and night and even missing sometimes. It's been a little over 3 months and I can't believe the difference. It is sandal season and I am no longer embarrassed of my toenails. The split is still slightly visible, but the notched area is growing out, looking better every time I trim. I expect that in another three months the notch and split will be completely gone. It takes time of course. The nail needs to grow out. I was afraid of losing my nails and now I go barefoot with confidence. A little goes a long way and I still have half a jar left. I have ordered two more and will keep using. GREAT PRODUCT that actually works. All podiatrists need to carry this in their offices.

Works well
I had multiple friends recommend this to me for my thin brittle nails. I bought it in fragrance free and cherry almond. I thought it was going to be a little tub but was pleasantly surprised at the large size. It only takes a small dab of cream so one tub should last a long time. I feel it has helped my nails more than any other nail treatment I've tried (and I've tried a lot.) I was annoyed that when I was trying to purchase it, I couldn't easily find an ingredient list (I have a lot of allergies to H&B products so I need to know what's in them before I purchase.) It is rather "greasy" so it needs a few min of dry in time before I touch anything otherwise I leave residue on whatever I've touched.
