Would 800 watt be too big for 75 galloon tank with 29 gallon sump ? I undertsand it's a lot more than needed but I intend to upgrade to a 180 soon.

I have my 800w in a 75g without any problem. Well, the only thing is, that you must turn it off when doing water change, because at have tank start overheating.
