Great Grass
I live in northern Wilmington near the line to PA which has soil that is heavy in clay. I buzzed the lawn down with a lawnmower and then used the weed wacker to buz it down to the ground. After that, I spread topsoil to have a new layer of soil. I put this seed down with this starter fertilizer and covered it with straw. The straw I got from Lowes in compressed rectangular bails. This was done last fall and came up nice. I did not notice it taking an exceptional amount of time as some people said on here. I did use humic and biochar that Doc on YouTube sells on amazon. My lawn this spring came up like a beautiful golf course. It is fabulous. This seed is kind of pricey but I am sold that it is great. I do think How to with Doc and his stuff helped a lot! His fertilizer is also pricey but awesome. After putting down the Doc fertilizer I am going to hit it with Superjoice with added microbes. I did put down organic matter a couple of weeks ago. The microbes will break down the organic matter which is chick (baby chicken) feed which I got at Tractor Supply or I think you can get it on amazon. I have some weeds and clover which I will stray Tenacity on it to get rid of them. Great product. Use a surfactant with it to make it stick to the weeds along with a dye to see where you sprayed.

Just beautiful
We used this for a border around our pool. It’s approximately 3 foot wide 40 feet long. This seed germinates quickly and fills in nicely. As it gets a little longer it starts to lay down in spots almost creating a wavy natural look. It is a bit expensive but it is very beautiful and just what we wanted. No weeds and all the seed we used germinated fully with no spots. Great product

Hard to grow, other grass mixed in. Short stuff looks good. Hope more of it grows.
Grass seed is expensive but this stuff is really expensive so I took all the steps to get a good stand. I had filled in a pool so I started with fresh topsoil. I lightly tilled to loosen the soil. I spread the seed and I did not skimp. I covered with chopped straw then set up sprinkler to run twice daily. The seed finally sprouted after 2+ weeks. Oh, this was in the fall. It has continued to grow as I live in zone 7 and winter has been mild. You can see from the pics, there are patches of really nice, short dark green grass. Mixed in are very tall, light green tufts of grass. I guess I will spot kill the tall stuff and re-seed with more grass. The growth was very patch so I am glad I bought the 10# bag because I will be repeating the process this spring to try and get more coverage. Overall, I would buy again because there is no other alternative.

Super soft and a beautiful rolling meadow look when laid on or has it gets taller
I love the look and feel of this grass. Mine has grown no more than 4".. Even if it grows taller once esta lished I dont think there will ever be a need to mow..My dogs and cat love love love it. They are constantly laying in it under our mulberry tree.. They won't even poop in it..lol..They go to the other side of yard so they dont ruin their area..Its not toxic to my pets so they can graze as much as they want. The only negative is I only had a 10x10 and 6x10 area to seed and had to use the full bag of seed. So now I have none left to fill in the patches, edges etc.. It started sprouting 7 days in. My grass is still young I have no doubt by next spring it will be lush, weed free and maintenance free. I did buy another bag..but I think I was over watering it...Obviously having problems keeping the fur babies off also...so if the next bag fills everything in then I will put 5 stars...I know I didnt plant it properly so for it to grow is already a win in my book...plus I think I should have left the soil crappy like it was..I tried to fertilize it and such..lol...not needed at all.

Best hand sown grass seed I’ve ever planted.
This seed germinated and took hold faster and better than any grass seed I’ve hand sown in a typically prepared bed in marginal soil in my lifetime. Because the hillside is so steep and runoff from rain potentially a threat I placed a netting with embedded straw over the bed. I’m not sure that was necessary after the fact but I couldn’t be happier with the results. A lot of native weeds came up as well but I sprayed it with a Bauer product for broadleaf and crab grass after the new grass was well established and it has had no consequences to the grass and the weeds are dying.

I am 72 y/o. and not about to buy a mower!
I live in a semi-temperate rain forest, suseptible to very heavy downpours of rain. The seed germinated in 8 days. I had covered the seeds with a thin blanket of straw to prevent the seeds from washing or blowing away on a sloped yard. I'll leave the straw and fine netting in place, and the future, taller grass will completely hide the straw to decompose into the ground. I am pleased with the progress so far, although it grows much more slowly than I am accustomed. I used almost the entire bag on 1,100 sq.ft. area. I'll probably need more seed in the spring to fill in sparse areas, but I'll wait until then to decide.
