I never would have guessed that I would enjoy flying a kite as much as I have after purchasing the Tantrum 250. I purchased this immediately after getting to fly one of the larger traction kites (Tensor 5.0) my cousin let me have a go at. I have no need for a full-fledged traction kite, but I really enjoyed the challenge of flying a kite that has enough pull to take you for a ride. I believe that the Tantrum 250 was the perfect compromise as far as price and size go. I typically fly in wind speeds between 12-15mph, and that is enough to get some good pull in gusts. I have flown it in winds a little plus of 15mph and it will definitely pull you – hard. Pretty smooth to fly in the 12-15mph range as the sail fills with the wind pretty easy. After researching the various parafoil-style kites that Prism offered, I bought the Synapse 200 about two weeks after I had bought the Tantrum 250; not because there was anything wrong with it, I just wanted something a bit more aerobatic that I could stick the 75’ tube tail on for eye candy. The 200 is definitely faster, and can pull loops, figure eights, etc. more easily than the 250. The 200 also has a much more forgivable pull than the 250, and that is the major difference between the two. The 250 can also pull off loops and figure eights, albeit slower/smoother than the 200. The trade-off is you get the experience of major traction with the 250; if you aren’t ready for it, a sudden gust can definitely pull you out of your shoes and I weigh ~180lb. With the 200, a big gust will simply register a casual “meh.”Bottom line. I really, really, like this kite. Super easy to pack up (less than 2 min), great pull, great look, definite eye catcher. Personally, I really like the control bar, but my girlfriend very much struggles to get the mechanics down. The 200 comes with strap handles and (honestly) it is easier to fly with the handles. I think that handles would allow you to perform faster aerobatics with the 250 as well. I will probably expand the collection to include the lower tier Synapse 140 (Cilantro) to complete the family.

Not cheap, but an excellent value.
I picked the 250 up for my nephews, but flew it myself a bit too. It's a very well-made, elegantly designed product; you're getting your money's worth in spite of it being a relatively expensive sport kite. If you're used to two-line kites, you know how to fly it. If not, a few minutes with the included manual will show you the basics. At higher wind speeds it WILL drag you. I tip the scales at almost 6'7", 300 lbs, and it still pulled me forward on more than one occasion. Which of course is part of the reason kids love it; it's like fighting a huge fish or tug-o-war. The kite needs tension on both lines to keep its shape, so if the kite does manage to pull the control bar out of their hands, the kite will simply collapse and fall out of the sky. So, it gives them the thrill factor without any serious risk. (To the operator, anyway. The lines could be hazardous if you hit somebody with them at high speed, so keep everybody clear!)Although it's considered a trainer kite and bears a strong resemblance to traction and kiteboarding kites, it isn't suitable for power kiting since it's just a two-line (no depower.) All in all, the boys were thrilled (and the adults were impressed too!)

Fantastic kite for the price
Works like the video shows. Strong enough to drag a 225 lb guy across the grass in 25 mph wind when cutting into the wind, but perfectly stable in the same wind. It stays high and manageable when keeping it center in crazy winds. It's fun to do tricks with it. Love the control bar that higher end ones also have. Completely ready to use out of the box/bag. Easy to put away too. My 8 & 9 year old can fly it in 10 mph wind. It does collapse a little on the sides with weak wind or when angled fairly far to either side in stronger wind which is usually recoverable, but you'd have to pay more like $500+ to not have that issue. Even then, the "challenge" that presents sometimes keeps it interesting and fun.

Great two-line kite that will put a grin on your face
This is my second parafoil kite and it’s a great kite to bring with me every where I go. The kite pulls very hard and has a wide enough wind range to fly at almost any time. I weigh in the ball park of about 155lbs. In 20-25mph winds, I’ll lie on my stomach and the kite will drag me across the ground about 10-14 feet each pass through the high power zone. While on my feet I’m able to jump about the same distance forward. Jumping up is a bit difficult because the sail is not quite large enough to fall back down slow enough. It is possible however. This kite is quite the work out. I flew the kite all day in 15-25mph winds and the next day I was so sore that I was moving old man speed. In light winds (8-12mph) is probably the best for this kite because it won’t leave you bed locked the next day. This kite leaves a wide grin on my face every time I fly it. I without a doubt recommend this kite to anyone who is looking to get into kiting. There is one thing that could be a negative, however, it’s understandable. That is the durability, if you fly the kite correctly, it will last years. Avoid making the kite hit the ground leading edge first at full speed. Upon impact the internal pressure of the sail will increase exponentially and will make the sail tear after repeated collisions with the ground. So I highly recommend that you get used to the kite in light winds before testing your limits. My final thoughts are 10/10. A helpful hint: if you are flying alone, stake the control bar to the ground and set the kite in an L shape where there is tension on the lines and the first 1/3 of the sail is sticking up while the last 2/3 is on the ground. This will make launching very easy if you don’t have access to sand.

Ton of fun
A TON of fun. Mostly in quarantine time. Now every day i look outside if its windy enough. I wouldnt recommand for kids ( it pull hard and can hurt the face of someone with the tight stringehile flying.. and i speak with experience). There is 3 main things you need to enjoy it. First a low-moderate wind. Second a large area without ANYONE/ANYTHING in the way. Third learn on youtube how to properly. Lay your kite for an easy takeoff( or you gonna hate this kite) if you follow that, its gonna be your best kite experience i promise. And its an amazing exercice in moderate++ wind. Worth every $$$.Enjoy

Using as a trainer kite for kiteboarding
Looking to get into kiteboarding and they say the first thing to do is find your self a trainer kite. I flew it tonight, it's the 220 model and its a nice kite and durable so far, Great price as well and I'm sure a good alternative to the slingshot B2 trainer. That said I'm approx 180# and it pulls OK had to put a foot infront of another once or twice but that was it. I kind of wish I went for the 250 model, Winds to me were blowing pretty good however gusty, so it did fall out of the air at times that maybe a bit more size could of helped. All in all it's doing its job though for the learning part and it's some fun as well!

Fun kite
I must be really insane to be buying such an expensive kite it said 120$ and I ended up paying 150$ I bought it for kiteboarding it has alot of pull to it but I haven't tested it out yet it's a great kite I'd recommend it but it's even more expensive now it says 330$ like what??? How does the price go up anyway if you really spend 150$ on a kite idk what too tell you

Gets the job done.
Id like to preface this by saying that I’m new to kiting so I have little prior knowledge to base this off of but I was happy with the product. I’ve used it on 8-10 different occasions now and it has flown well and been lots of fun. I’ve also crashed it a few times and it seems to be holding up well(don’t worry it’s very easy to fly I just tend to push things to far and over estimate my abilities lol). Overall happy with the purchase. Price is very good compared to other kites I looked at. Prime shipping is always nice too.

awesome
Great starter power kite, I take it out with my nephew and its so much fun. The third time we went out a hawk flew and soared right next to the kite in the air for a few minutes, and that was an awesome experience!
