Makes Static background noise!
I'm an acoustics Eng, and had to just throw this piece of junk out! It was just a paper weight! My kids tried playing & I kept hearing a static noise with their music. About 50% of the audio output! I tried other music formats and my known good formats sane thing. We tried multiple speakers, but it followed the player. We tried different cables, but it was present with all cables! So not yhe music format, not the speakers, not the cables, so i swapped out this mp3 player & noise is gone! Hmmm?!? Of course, there's no Bluetooth either. Too late for returns, so had to just throw it away. Do NOT BUY! I'll give you mine fir Free!!!!! Seriously. Worst product I have ever owned on Amazon!!!!

It works, but with many quirks
I bought this player from another seller. The device was brand new and came preloaded with the newest firmware that other reviews mention. The Nano D3 plays many types of files but that's the only good thing about it. There's a lot of "noise/static" even on lower volume levels. The noise is more noticeable with IEMs. The user interface is one of the worst I have seen, and I've purchased cheaper players in the $20 range. Forget about trying to sort by artist or album, it doesn't work well. Save time and money and get either a cheaper player or spend more and get a FiiO.

Sound is rather good and it could be adjusted with built in EQ ...
Sound is rather good and it could be adjusted with built in EQThis player is very small 3.5 by 2 inches. It is very intuitive to control and it has setting that remembering the last position that been played. Sound is rather good and it could be adjusted with built in EQ, including custom settings. Player recognized lossless 24 bit 96 KHz flac format. I did not yet try DSD or DSF. The only problem I found that support 256 GB micro SD is not true. Out of the box player recognized only 32 GB card (xFAT). I tried 64 and 128 gb with some music on it - it reported "No music files". Eventually I find the way for the player to recognize 64 GB card. SD card must be formatted inside of the player. In this case the file system that created for formatted card is FAT32. I did not try to format 128 GB micro SD as FAT32 and I do not need it so far. 64 GB storage has plenty of space for such a small device. I bought it to use as a lossless music source in a car to connect it through AUX connector. I do not believe that Bluetooth can give audio-feel quality. And one more thing: You can find the Firmware update address on the back of the player. Just connect player to the computer and put the firmware file (download!) into the root directory of the player storage (not SD card). Restart player it will update itself. In addition: If you create the number of folders, player will play all files across all the directories. Good machine and will stay in my collection.

Simple Hifi audio player but barren for some
a tiny, precision built audio player that plays anything thrown at it, but is sparse in its features.I bought the XDUoo Nano D3 to replace my iPod nano. I wanted more storage, higher fidelity, and a longer battery life.I travel quite often for work so I need an audio player that I can turn on an just let play while I'm on a flight. I don't need connectivity like bluetooth, wifi, videos, games, etc. This little machine now has 128GB+8GB internal. It connects to my desktop using MTP protocol ( seeing as a storage device) and I use anything I want to add/remove files from it.I will say that transfers are not lightning fast when using a big microsd card and usb 2.0 but it works great and does exactly what its designed for.If you want something with more features, more connectivity, or additional bells & whistles look elsewhere. If you just need something that can play FLAC+everything else in your collection and play for hours.. try picking this up.I just wish I could buy a silicone case for this. I'll problably have to 3d print something out of ninjaflex.

Not exactly as advertised.
I bought this item because Amazon described the player as playing alac files. It does not, the owners manual does not mention playing alac files. I ended up sending the player back to the seller on my own dime, so I could get a refund on my purchase. Amazon still describes this item as playing alac files.

After Firmware update cannot read music titles
Sounds great, battery life is great....but: I comes with firmware that has to be updated right away so it can read the claimed 256gb card. Fine, did that and now it reads the 256gb card like it says. But now a new problem... when you choose a song to play you will see the title and filename but what you hear is a completely different song from a completely different file. So until this is fixed I cannot recommend. Hopefully this can be fixed soon.

USB does not work with Windows 7, does work ...
Revised. USB does works with Windows 7 and Windows 10. Initially didn't work with Win 7 but after trying other USB ports found one that it worked wiith. Other OS's not tried. Manufacturer's website has no driver support or any information about what operating systems the D3 will connect to. This not to comment one way or another on any other aspect of the D3.
