NewPower99 Battery Kit for Garmin Nuvi 2797, Nuvi 2797LM, Nuvi 2797LMT with Tools, Video Instructions and Long Life Battery

The original battery in my nuvi 2757 was on its last legs so I got to looking around for a replacement and this product fit the bill both for price and quality.The kit comes complete with the battery assembly (natch), a screwdriver, edge wedge and instructional dvd. Actually the dvd is superfluous because the same video is available on youtube, but it's an indicator of the care and attention paid by the supplier for this product.Removing the gps screws was easy and I should note that the screwdriver is the correct size torx; I had to previously replace a broken screen assembly in the same unit and the package came with the wrong size torx, albeit that was from a different supplier. Removing the unit's back should be done carefully because the ribbon connector between the screen and unit back can come off easily and is a real pain to put back. Removing the old battery is a bit heart-wrenching because it's glued down to the unit's frame and takes some courage to pry it off. The new battery fits perfectly and the power connector slips into place easily. The rest is easy with simply snapping the cover back on and replacing the screws. Charging should be done before use even though there is enough charge in the battery as-is to at least turn on the unit and verify it boots up correctly. Charging takes about 4 hours with a common mini-usb cable and wall charger or usb port from a computer.I've had the new battery in service for about 2 weeks now and it's working fine. I recommend this as a replacement kit for anyone looking to replace their old nuvi 2757 battery.

Works and installs as advertised. It is a bit tricky to install because of the tiny connectors Garmin uses.

Had a problem getting my unit to charge after sitting idle for awhile, after installation of new battery it works perfectly! Would advise anyone who replaces the original battery that removing that battery takes a bit of patience due to the fact that the glue holding it in place is extremely adhesive.

Battery drains in a very short after power down.I turned on the unit to change some information on the Garmin, in less than 3 minutes it power off.After being fully charged, it loses 75% to 80% of the charge in a couple of days.It is no improvement of the original battery.
