I wanted to love this thing soooo bad and I do love the idea of it but the quality, durability and functionality just was not there. I bought this for a tropical island vacation with the intention of bringing it to the beach and the pool as a charcuterie type snack box. I love that it came with forks and containers for dips but unfortunately the quality of the box set it up for failure from the start. First of all it has four black clasps (one on each side) to close and secure the lid. One of them kept falling off from the very beginning so I ended up just leaving it off. The next thing was the rubber seal that goes all the way around the box was too big so there was a part where there was excess seal sticking out when you closed the lid and no matter how we moved the seal around it would not lay flat. Then the second black clasp broke off and it basically would not close at all. I had strawberries in it and the lid got stained and by the end of the trip only one black clasp was working and I had taken the rubber seal out to help the lid stay flat. The ice retention was really good, we were on a tropical island where it’s over 80 degrees even at night and it would still last for hours sitting at the beach or by the pool in the shade and inside it’s insulated bag. I packed it every day because everyone loved snacking from it but because of how poorly it stayed together it just was not worth it.

Perfect for tournament

Wow, from the packaging to the little personal forks, this Chilled Portable Snack Box is well thought out and very convenient. First, the way it came to me, the packaging told me right away this was a quality item. Then when I opened it and started to explore, I soon discovered the carry bag is really nice. The tray itself fits in the bag perfectly and even empty the bag is easy to store away (not bulky). Every thing about the carrier seems right, stitching and zipper. The lid seems flimsy and one of the handles came off (easily put back on, but it irritates how it keeps coming off) but the lid is meant to keep a cover on the food and doesn't need to be super strong. There is a nice rubber seal in the lid and that will help keep condensation inside the box (should also help with any juice or other liquids that might be present. I do find that to open the box to access the food, I have to remove the entire thing from the carrier. Once open I can put it back in to add insulation to the bottom, but I cannot open the box while it is inside the carrier. The box itself is so nice. It isn't flimsy cheap plastic, but a thicker higher grade that feels nice and I doubt it will absorb smells and colors from food as easily as other plastics. The box has 9 different spots to put food items. One is a good size, perhaps for the main part of your meal, or maybe for crackers. Then there are two small cups with lids for sauces (Nutella and Ranch, sweet and savory for me) and they each have their own spot. Then there is yet another open slot that is meant to hold these little forks. So, if you want to share, everyone has their own fork. Underneath this tray, nestled into the framework for the box sits the freezer pack. This is a hard plastic self contained chill able gel filled ice block. Much like other ice blocks for coolers and RVs, this one is a bit smaller but it fits perfectly and won't be sliding about. As to how good this chills. When kept in the carrier and kept closed, this will keep things cool for a good amount of time, depending on the ambient temperature. I live in Tucson so in July when I am testing this, I can count on the stuff staying cold for about an hour, closed. If I open it and start snacking, then after a short amount of time I find the top layer of each item in its small slot is room temperature and the only the bottom layer is cold. But, this is to be expected. Since the plastic is thicker the cold seems to not transfer as well as I had expected, but if you start out with it filled and chilled that helps. The whole item is nice and I will get a lot of use out of it, but remember it isn't a refrigerator. I will be using this for the first day of my road trip. I will pack it the night before we leave and have it with me in the truck as I drive. It sits nicely on the center console between the two front seats. However, I cannot re-freeze the block because it is too large for the freezer in my camper. I think this would be a great item for picnics, the beach, play dates and other times where a light snack with lots of variety is called for. I really like this cooler box and I like the set up; the carrier all the different slots and the little forks.

Perfect for kids functions. Lots of little trays for different types of snacks and the ice pack definitely kept everything cold and crisp. Would buy again.

I'll be returning the 2 I bought. Cute design and nice size for a picnic but both items had the front black clasp used to hold it shut, broken off and laying in the bottom of the case. I see by past comments that it seems to be a common problem. I wonder if I just buy a different color if maybe they were manufactured at a different time/place so are better made??

I love this thing. It’s aesthetically pleasing but also functional! The only thing I would change is I would have another plastic insert with larger compartments for each snack. For my family of 5 the small sections are really only big enough for a handful! However I love the fact that it comes with a bag and the included ice pack is great.

I like the design of this, with the ice pack that fits in the bottom and removable tray, everything nicely fitting into a carry bag and it coming with two dip containers and small forks. This would be a really nice snack / picnic setup if it were not for the fact that the build quality / design is just not 100% there. The main issue is that out of the box both of the longer latches don't stay into the top; you can get them to latch when closed but whenever you open it they will pop off the top on at least one side (both of the longer latches do the same thing) and if you hit it just right when closed they also will pop off. This really seems to be structural on the latches, they are too long and can flex too much allowing them to pop off. It does not seem that anything is broken on the latches, just they are not designed in a way that keeps them in place. While the smaller latches seem to work fine (so far) this is not closing and sealing as designed and I would not recommend purchasing something that basically came defective out of the box.
