any one have small dogs and use it? I have a Maltese puppy thats less than 3lbs rn and I don't want him to squeeze through the slats.

The slats won't be an issue but pushing the gate open on either end will be an issue. For example I have my lil 5lb dog in my room if I don't want her to get out or if I have gate up in kitchen and don't want her getting in the kitchen YOU HAVE TO HAVE A CORNER OR WALL SO SHE CAN NOT PUSH THE GATE ENDS. I wish I was able to include a picture but I think you get my point, the gate sections slide super easy

What is the width of one panel ?

I don’t know since the gate broke and it was discarded

Is this 60” or 72”? Both are referenced in this section. If 60”, then what is total width when zigzagged? My opening is 55 inches.

Each slat is 20”. If 5” to zigzag is enough for you, it will work.

What type wood is this gate, pine or oak?

It is painted white and I can not see the wood. It is very sturdy and easy to use. I am very pleased with the product.
