I wanted an acrylic gate since I do not like the look of traditional metal or wood gates but safety was most important obviously. There were not many reviews but so happy we took a chance on this one. I did not have any issues with the install, took about two hours since I had to install a post too on the right side since my opening exceeded the gate width limit. If you are in search of a good quality gate that almost disappears visually, this is the gate for you. Just measure twice before you drill and keep the gate release tool in a safe place since you will need it if you ever want to take it off in the future. Took about a week to get used to the closure... was tough at first until we got a feel for it. Daughter also really likes this gate... I guess it doesn't make he feel trapped like the metal bar ones do.

I can’t express how much I love these gates! They’re easy to install, easy to use, and look extremely high end. I wanted something that would blend in and not be an eye sore in our newly renovated house, and these are perfect! Everyone compliments them once they realize they’re there! We got the adapter for the posts so that we didn’t have to drill into our railing. It works great, however they do move a little when you’re pulling the gate up to open it. Small inconvenience for keeping our railing intact. Also doesn’t affect the security of the gate, so it’s fine. I highly recommend this gate!

First time reviewer FYI because I am very happy with the support for this product... I installed one gate to divide my kitchen and living room for my two year old boy. Very sturdy and easy install. We had two pull out flexible gates at the top and bottom of our staircase but our child quickly learned to crawl under/over these gates. So I moved our living room gate to the top of the staircase and purchased another Qdos for the bottom of the staircase. During unpacking the new gate I may have broken a bracket. Qdos quickly replaced this part. Great support. These are great looking and sturdy gates. I would recommend to anyone who wants a more attractive alternative to metal/wood gates.

Super sturdy gate - pretty much impossible for a child or dog to open unless they jumped over it. It even took us a while to get it open and closed easily and it still takes a good amount of effort. We had ours professionally installed to the door frame because we wanted it done right the first time. We removed a storage closet door and replaced it with this for our dog. I like the fact that it’s adjustable so it can go over the stair case and a wider doorway. When the time comes that we need more gates, I’ll definitely be re-ordering. Everyone that comes over to the house asks where we got this gate from because they’d never seen one like it. We wanted a gate for our dog’s room near our main living space that wasn’t an eye sore like most, and we’re so glad we found this beautiful, modern looking gate!

This is a very sturdy nice looking gate. It functions well. Big downside, I felt like I needed a certificate of completion after installing this. It was very difficult. The instructions were not easy to follow. It took me 4 hours. I wouldn't discourage anyone from getting this nice gate, but be prepared to go on a treasure hunt in making your way through the installation instructions.

My husband had a bit of trouble installing because the instructions are not very clear, but he got it up and installed once he got going. We got this gate because we wanted to be able to see through the hallway, and not block any light. We also wanted to go with the mounted vs pressure due to stairs being right there and this gate being used quite often. While I was playing with our toddler and my husband was in the kitchen, we heard a crashing noise and jumped up to see that the bottom hinge was broken and the plastic of the gate had sheared off. No one was near the gate when it happened and we were able to collect the plastic shards quickly. 10 days I ago I emailed customer support and was given a ticket number in their auto reply saying they’d be in touch within 24-48 hours. I called their 800 number today since I still hadn’t heard anything, and was told I needed to fill out a different form and include pictures. So I did that and now I’m waiting but so far, I’m disappointed in how this gate held up to normal use and how the warranty is being honoured. Mind you, it looked great, and we got tons of compliments. Funny thing, we were about to order a second one for our other hallway but it broke, and now it appears you can’t even purchase them online.

We already had another baby gate, but my husband saw this one and had to have it. It looks so much better than any other baby gate and it’s also super sturdy. It took our live-in nanny a minute to figure out how to open it but it’s easy after you do it once and I like that my almost one year-old won’t be able to eventually figure it out! We also got the stair mounting kit so we don’t have to screw into our banister. The whole installation was very simple and straight forward. Love it!

If one has a straight forward installation this product is a piece of cake to install. However in my case I had a banister and taller than normal baseboard to deal with. This made the installation much more difficult. Obviously that is not the manufacturers issue. I would say if one comes up against a non-routine installation as described in the instruction I would think the installer should have some prior experience in dealing with more than average DYI projects. Purchased it for younger grandkids so they would not fall down an open stairwell. I am 76 yrs old and have had many DYI experiences and this did test me. The positive outcome, my wife liked it so I am good.
