Great Value! Excellent oven
UPDATE: I previously gave this 2 starts because I thought the oven had stopped cooking properly. Turns out to be a user error. Oven works great! Tip: make sure you put the crumb tray in the right place. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this on October 19, 2024. I needed very specific measurements because I am working out of a tiny kitchen. The best part of this toaster oven by far, is the fact that it can hold a full size casserole dish no problem. It looks nice. It's been easy to keep clean. I have really enjoyed it. When I read reviews I noticed that lots of people complained that it is loud when in use. This is true, but I placed a shelf mat under it and the problem was solved. The other complaint was that the knobs are difficult to turn. They are, but it is definitely not a deal breaker for me. Overall this is a great toaster oven for the price.

Good, with some caveats.
I like that its extra wide so we can fit bigger casserole dishes, or more bread. Heats fast and toasts food up quick. Only complaints so far are the knobs are a little stiff and can be slightly hard to turn for some people. Also, the loud bell/ringing noise when the timer goes off is annoying. I've never understood who that feature is for. Who wants a loud beeping/ringing bell noise when their food is done? Especially if you have to heat something up later at night when people are sleeping. Stop putting loud beeping/bells in toaster ovens and microwaves! Minus one star for the loud bell and the knobs being hard to turn.

Outstanding 8-slice convection oven, a true kitchen workhorse
This BLACK+DECKER 8-slice convection toaster oven has been a workhorse in our kitchen and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. The extra-wide interior easily fits a 9x13 baking pan, a whole 12-inch pizza, or eight slices of toast simultaneously, which is a game changer for family meals. The convection fan circulates heat evenly, resulting in consistently well-browned baked goods, perfectly crisped fries, and golden-brown roasted vegetables without hot spots. We use it to bake, broil, and toast almost daily and it has maintained consistent performance. The included bake pan, broil rack, and toasting rack are all solid quality and well-sized. The temperature settings are accurate and the timer with auto-shutoff provides peace of mind. The stainless steel finish looks great on the countertop and cleans up nicely. It heats up noticeably faster than our full-size oven and saves energy for smaller meals. An outstanding appliance at a very competitive price point.

Great oven, horrible instructions, HUGE price increase just before Christmas!
I've had this toaster oven for about a month now and, after doing some scavenger hunting on the internet for instructions and a little trial and error, I think it's going to pretty much replace my regular gas oven. Let me save you a little frustration as to the lack of instructions, especially pertaining to the convection feature. If you select the "Bake" setting, the convection feature is activated. There is no way to turn it off, which is actually fine. What I have discovered is, if I'm baking baked goods (cookies, muffins, etc) you need to decrease the baking temperature by 25 degrees or reduce the baking time by about 25 %, or both. If you reduce the temp, start checking for doneness about 3/4 of the way through the baking process. If I'm baking a casserole, which contains more liquids or the like('cream of' soups, eggs, cheese, etc) I use the recommended temperature in the recipe and let it cook the full amount of time. I made a tuna noodle casserole last week and it was perfect using the recipe exactly as written. I haven't used the broil feature for meat yet, so I don't have a point of reference for that feature and, as I'm single and just make toast in a regular 2 slice toaster, I also don't have a review for the toast feature (I don't need 8 slices of toast at once.) What I LOVE about this oven is being able to use my regular pans! I had a smaller toaster oven before and got frustrated by having to buy special pans for it. I ended up buying a lot of disposable aluminum pans. With this oven, I can use all of my regular pans (I have several Pampered Chef ones that I wasn't able to use in the old toaster oven) except for a couple of my larger baking stones. So far, everything has baked so much more evenly than in my full sized gas oven that I'm absolutely thrilled. So, as far as the way the oven functions and the results I've had when cooking with it, I am very satisfied with this oven. The only negative comment that I have about it is that the instructions are almost non-existent. An individual shouldn't have to do 2 hours of research online and watch youtube videos to learn how to properly use this product. They really need to include an actual instruction manual, with a few recipes included for each feature of the oven, instead of a big sheet of pitiful basic instructions that are written in about a dozen different languages. I think that most of the negative reviews that I've seen could have been avoided if this were the case. Does the outside of the oven get hot? Yes, it's a toaster oven, not an insulated range, so move it away from the wall. The crumb tray slides into the slots underneath the OUTSIDE of the oven, it doesn't go inside and I believe this is the reason that so many people are saying it never gets hot enough. The convection feature comes on and stays on when baking, there's no way to shut it off. All of this could should be explained in an actual instruction manual. My last comment pertains to the price. At $67 in November, this oven was a great value. Less than a month later, it's $96!!!! Had it been this price originally, I'm not sure I would have purchased it. So, my review is A for the the oven itself, D for the lack of instructions and the $30 price hike just before Christmas.

Loved the size, HATED the oven
I wanted a toaster convection oven large enough to hold a 9x13 baking dish with handles. It does fit inside this oven well. I also liked the outside access to the crumb tray. It has 3 rack levels. I used the middle level for the pizza. Putting the rack on the middle level is a little weird because of some small metal holder thing on the inside left wall. You have to tilt the rack down under it and then back up to finish sliding the rack all the way in. This is not mentioned anywhere in the included instructions. My first oven test was a 12" frozen pepperoni & sausage pizza with thin crispy crust. Simple instructions on pizza... oven at 425, place pizza directly on middle rack, cook for 13 minutes. The round & slick knobs are extremely difficult to turn, especially if you have any moisture on your hands whatsoever. The timer knobs are especially difficult to turn because of the tension. I had to use a towel to grab them and turn. I actually had to use both hands to turn the main timer to the left for the oven to stay always on the first time. It did get a little easier with one hand after the first time. I preheated the oven for 10 minutes per the oven instructions and then placed the pizza directly on the rack per the pizza instructions. I set my microwave timer to 13 minutes per the pizza instructions. My microwave is digital and more accurate than trying to figure out 13 minutes on the hard to hold and turn oven knob timer. The oven fan is loud with a constant rattle like it has a bad bearing. It sounds like a really cheap fan. The fan rattle occasionally rattles the entire oven case a little for an extra rattling noise. Slightly pressing down on the top of the oven a little would stop the oven rattle, but the fan rattle continued. When I stopped pressing the top of the oven, the case rattle returned. It is annoying. When the microwave timer completed at 13 minutes, the pizza was not done as they normally are in my regular large oven. The crust was just starting to brown a little on the edge and was not crisp at all. I decided to cook it an additional 2 minutes and after that another 1 minute for a total of 3 extra minutes over the time on the pizza instructions. The outside edges of the pizza did get crisp. The crust in the middle of the pizza was floppy and not crisp at all as when I cook them in the regular oven. Some pieces of the sausage on the pizza wasn't really hot, like maybe they didn't cook enough. After all this, I decided to pack it up and return it the same day it arrived. I really had high hopes for it.

Very functional, but measure your counter space before ordering.
Our smaller Black & Decker toaster oven usually burned everything except plain toast and was too small for 4 pieces of bread or buns. Baking anything always ended up burnt on the top & bottom due to the limited space inside the oven. This larger convection model works great toasting anything (roomy enough for 6 buns) and bakes by moving the air around, so no burnt tops. Cooks using up to a 9x13 pan (extra oven for big dinners). Frozen biscuits, fries, chicken nuggets & pizza come out great. Caution: due to the convection feature I have to keep the baking temp much lower than usual. Grands frozen biscuits @ 300 degrees are done in 20 minutes. The crumb tray is really easy to remove & clean and keeps the bottom neat (no burned on food smoking or stuck to the bottom that you can't clean). I keep a piece of cheap oven liner on the tray and everything wipes right off. It's used every day & the inside of this oven looks as good as the day we got it. The outside does get hot, but I set dinner plates on top to warm them while waiting for the food. The door does not have a hinge to keep it from hitting the counter when you open it, only con I can think of.

Just received my third one!
I have just received my third oven of this model. The other two lasted about four years each with everyday use. Not just toasting in the morning, but this is my actual oven for cooking. I never use my big oven. I am a baby boomer and I have come to terms with things not lasting like they used to. That being said, this oven has served me well. I got it originally for the wide oven capacity. For the two of us, this is perfect. I have read the other reviews, and yes when it was getting older, I noticed it became loud on the cooking part, not the toaster. And then finally the oven part went, and only the toaster worked. But I didn't care if it played a tune while it cooked, I still liked it. No glass ever shattered, and I didn't notice the temperature being subpar either. It cooked chicken, pork, casseroles, everything, or I would not have gotten a third one. For the most part I was quite pleased with it. I noticed they now have a newer version with a air fry option. Nope, I know better. I just stuck with what worked. I don't need any fancy add ons. Just one more thing to break. My guess is it doesn't air fry like a dedicated air fryer anyway. One more thing, I gave it one star because the grate cleans ok and the tray, which I cover with foil anyway. I stopped trying to clean the cavity of a toaster oven long ago, so no. Never bothered. I just bought new. So there you have it. UPDATE: I like honest reviews so I am going to put this here. Having had my new oven for several weeks now, I notice the cooking/baking selection makes a loud noise. Annoyingly loud. My other ones did when they were on the way out. This one is new and it is making the noise. The toaster, broil selections are quiet. Just the low sound of a ticking timer. Needless to say, after this one, I am going to try to find something else. It is too bad because I loved the width of this one. But I cannot listen to this oven. I have to put the TV on louder since my kitchen/family room is one area. I will not stop using it, but to say it is annoying is an understatement. So if this seems like something you can stand, go ahead. The oven cooks quickly, is wide and I like everything else about it. But it WILL be my last because of the noise. Color me disappointed.

Good product. Works fine.
Works well. A little heat comes off the top. So make sure you have room around. 12 inch pizza fits. 12x16 inch tray fits. 17 inch doesn't fit. Manual timer and temperature settings may not be precise but close enough. I bought an oven thermostat for it. I have a portable digital timer. Manual controls don't get affected by heat. LCD displays don't like heat at all.

Tostador y broiler funcionales.

Underrated Transformer . 500w instead of 1500w. Absolute cheat
This product works on a 110V AC source . Amazon is supplying it with a local step down transformer from 230V to 110V to make it suitable for Indian conditions . The transformer supplied is not working . I made a complaint to Black & Decker who sent a technician and he rectified the transformer on his second visit . Within the first use , the main MCB tripped indicating overload or short circuit in the transformer . Black & Decker refuses to service / replace the transformer saying it’s not their product . It’s just been a month since delivery and issue isn’t getting resolved . Will Amazon come forward to sort out the mess ?
