This book was excellent

Very thorough and interesting book altogether.

The DuPonts are a large and extremely complicated family; the DuPont Company is a large and extremely complicated business. To read a book about either one would have been tiresome enough; to read about both in the same book is excruciating. Too many names, too many details, and too many corporate deals -- with far, far too many useless asides and footnotes -- make 'Blood Relations' a chore. Yes, an occasional interesting tidbit pops up, but these are too rare and far between to float this massive, wordy bore.

Enjoyed reading about the history of the families and the companies.

what I expected

The actual story was not quite what I expected. I was hoping for more current (1970's) insight into the family.
