DONG FANG DF50SST
Ordered the red one, got a call from Texas (Dallas Motorsports) a woman claiming to be from Amazon. She said there were 2 colors available, black and blue. Note: Amazon had already deducted the payment from my account. I chose black, she asked what my second choice was.... The Blue one was delivered. The truck driver dumped it at the end of my driveway, he couldn't get it any farther. I had to unpack it in the street. Turns out one side mirror was broken, no biggie, ordered a nicer set. Some connector cable in front had broken, unknown purpose which doesn't effect operation, rigged a fix. Manual for different bike, no help at all. Fortunetly I had pre-assembled another one a couple of years ago. Not a 2016, late 2014 but brand new still. It is more compact than a full size sportbike, reminds me of a cartoon of an elephant riding a tricycle but cute and fun. Prepping the battery and installing was an adventure, have to fill with electrolyte solution (foil cover wouldn't stay down had to use electrical tape) then screw into the box under the body with very little room for arms. Took a couple of seconds to figure out depressing right side brake lever to start. Legs in somewhat uncomfortable riding position, but suppose that is normal for sportbikes. If you enjoy DIY hands on projects to do by yourself, you will get a kick out of this.

I want it to be known I did not buy this product off Amazon, I bought it off another website but due to the fact it is really hard to find any information on this bike I decided to share some myself. My bike was produced at "Jiangsu Baodiao Locomotive Co. ltd"This means it is Chinese, and not produced by any real known seller. What little information I have found on the manufacturer is on their crappy 2006 'made by a 16 year old for a highschool project' website. They have a lot of moped and motorcycles on the website, however this one is not listed. It is listed on plenty of sites under different names but they are all the same. The bike seems very new to the market and as such is hard to find reliable information on specifics. I.e what the hell model it actually is, I mean look at the name, the bike has a few model names on the fairings, one such as a moped produced by Baodiao, and the ZX-6R Kawasaki even on the side (I guess its maybe what the fairings are and then maybe engine). All in all its just been difficult to learn what it is so I'm trying to help for anyone who wants a review of the bike and just general information because my bike did not come with any manual either.Engine: It uses a Honda GY6 50cc clone. Yes clone means it was made not by honda, however this 4 stroke engine just feels solid, for a weak little moped engine it is actually pretty well made and has been giving reliable power at stock (I soon plan to have a few less stock parts). The actual engine number is 139QMB in case you're looking for parts. The air filter can only handle so much water so make sure you kinda block it with your left foot when its raining or when you go through water. The way the bike is designed you can actually feel yourself lose engine power if your block the air filter with your foot too much. This is not a problem because you can easily move your foot more to the edge of the peg and I like to think of it more as a feature because like I said, when raining, it can be pretty handy.Driving: So far the only thing I haven't driven it on is ice and snow. It has the 4 stroke 50cc so it's basically a weak dirt bike, and I love using it for that. I also love the automatic transmission 'gas and go', or I guess 'throttle and go'. Sadly I already cracked one of my fairing and since these are sportbike fairings they are expensive as hell, oh well. It rides well on grass, so long as its not to wet. Dirt/sand is a little sketchy on roads because it's basically a motorcycle in the way it rides/steers. On roads it handles curves like a boss, probably because its a sport bike and it only goes about 40mph flat. Certain hills I can keep about 30mph but once I hit 25mph it gets pretty brutal. I live in a hilly and curvy place so this is not good. Downhill however it is a motorcycle, I have easily gone past 60mph (past the speedometer which only goes up to 60mph) with no wobbles whatsoever (tire was starting to act funny though). The acceleration is pretty poop, thanks 4 stroke. I mean if I gun it when the light turns green it will take almost 10 seconds to start maxing 35mph... it's pretty sad, and probably a little dangerous. I find myself most of the time hugging the white line letting cars pass until I can finally peak that hill or get up to top speed. Passengers are fun when you're not on the road, I went around some communities, parking lots, and off road with passengers and that was just a blast, the road however is a just to slow, it also says specifically on the bike not to have passengers but it comes with passenger pegs. I guess the back pegs are just meant for sick wheelies, which I really don't think are possible on this bike unless you physically pick up the handle bars when riding and that's not a real wheelie, so must stunts are a no-go.The features: When I first got the bike it came with a tool kit which the delivery man (18 wheeler truck driver, very friendly) handed me myself. The bike comes mounted with wired in a metal frame, it was slightly dirty and looked like it had been halfway across the world to be honest. The handlebars come unattached with in hindsight is nice because then you can adjust them to your own settings. My handlebars, on the right side, specifically the little fluid box, it hit the windshield so I have the shave down a little of the side of the windshield so they didn't hit when I made a sharp left. The windshield itself is useless, there for only looks, a theme on this bike. The seat padding is comfy and well conformed to the butt. Front and rear brake both work awesome, especially when conjoined (Make sure to use both in a pinch, they both work best when used together gently). It has everything it needs to be a registered motorcycle; blinkers, high and low beams (Headlights suck. They are awful. Make sure to replace bulbs is you ever plan to do night riding which I don't recommend ever), horn, it comes with rearview mirrors which were dismal to install (I used some washers to add buffer room so they actually fit snugly instead of just dangling. You will understand when you get the mirrors) they now are installed properly and work just fine, engine kill switch on right side along with engine electric start (Works everytime unless engine is real cold, and even then it doesn't take longer than a second or two to get it going). On the dash it has an odometer (Tank is between 1 and 2 gallons, probably closer to one. This lasts about 100-130 miles. The first time I filled it, pretty close to full, I rode it until empty and the odometer was at about 120.) the speedometer goes up to 60mph and lets you know when you go past 35mph because past that it is marked with a red line as opposed to a white, then battery charge which is very useful after not riding after a while. The ignition has and on and off for the battery (don't be silly and try and turn the key more, the engine start switch is on the right side of the handlebars under and engine kill switch), it also comes with a built in ignition cover so that people don't mess with your key hole. The only storage on the bike is under the seat on the left side, there is the tiniest little cargo container (use ignition key to open), almost like the ones you see for waterbottles on a bicycle, only this one will not hold something that big. It has a little air hole intake on the cargo container so I taped that up so no water or insects/animals got in and then put my registration and an ID in there. The bike also comes with a kickstart which I always recommend to use when you start it up the first time (Why? Because you will never use your kickstart ever again so you want to use it at least once for good measure). Make sure you depress the front and/or rear brake whenever you start the engine via kickstart or electric.Legal: I walked in the DMV with the bill of sale and certificate of origin (both came in the mail about a week after getting bike). They handed me two sheets to fill out, a titling form and a moped form. I filled them out in about fifteen minutes, waited two hours to meet with a lady at the counter, payed the 30 bucks for 3 years of license plates, payed 15 dollar moped fee, got the plate right there and walked out, strapped it on back of moped with bent paperclips, and rode home.Feels: It feels like nothing I've ever ridden, neither a moped nor a motorcycle. I guess the best way to describe it is either the coolest moped ever or the s***tiest motorcycle. Don't buy this if it is possible for you to get a motorcycle, if either by age/legal reasons/other you cannot ride a motorcycle, only a moped, buy the hell out of this. Its fun for offroad, its nice and steady on the road, and other motorcyclist wave at you because just for one second they think you're an R6.
