Vintage Shell Wall Sconce – Mid-Century Coastal Amber Glass Shade – Antique-Style Shell-Shaped Wall Lamp for Living Room, Bedroom & Hallway

I had low expectations for these sconces but wanted to try because they’re a dupe of a style I love. I ordered two and the quality and color of the glass are surprisingly good. However, the hole at the bottom of one of them (where the brass knob screws in) was off center which was very noticeable when the knob is screwed in. I ordered a second set to try again. The color was slightly different (pink undertones instead of yellow) which was fine, but now one of these had a prominent “bubble” in the glass that would be really obvious when the light is on. Because the color is different I couldn’t mix and match the two that weren’t defective. I got the white ones which looked good but I wouldn’t get any of the other colors because the back of the glass has a white coating that would show through. Also the backplates are super janky so you’d want to make sure they’re mounted high enough to not see them. I went to return both of them, and the return has to be approved and then I have to pay for the *unspecified* cost of shipping. So, unfortunately these are in fact too good to be true and I’m terrified of the return shipping cost.

0 stars if I could. We got the maroon one - came looking like opaque brown. Doesn’t show light through because the color is so dark and thick. In the picture the inside is the same color but on the product it’s white and it stands out. Looks very cheap.

I actually really like it, I was scared because the reviews were so bad after I already bought ... lost a star because the bulbs it comes with are horrid but I am currently seeking a replacement for it. Sooo warning. If you actually give a crap about lighting these bulbs are grade a trash :) Also it doesn't screw into the bracket for a light it screws into the dry wall which is weird.

The lovely glass shade does not fit on the holding bracket. Bad design as the post location cannot fit the glass’ shape. Can’t use the light,
