It cuts really smoothly!

Not a bad knife, but needs a better description.
First, the knife has good weight and is extremely sharp. The blade is beautiful with a nice Damascus pattern. However, it looks to me like the pattern is laser etched and not true Damascus. It might be a San Mai technique. If so, that should be in the description. I say this because a Damascus blade pattern would be the same throughout the blade, ricasso and tang. in this case the Damascus pattern ends about an inch before the handle. To say it's not a quality blade, would not be true as I didn't use it at all. I returned it because it didn't meet my expectations for Damascus steel. I purchased the A1 not the A2. The A2 looks like a San Mai blade but I am not positive. The A1 surely does not.
