A book not to be overlooked.
This is a book everyone should read, a bit technical in places and not all will be relevant to your life, but the diamonds and nuggets of wisdom found are thought provoking and life changing.

If you aren't planning to have children, there really isn't much of interest
As somebody who has watched pretty much every Zoe podcast and hence seen Dr Federica Amati speak about diet, nutrition etc many times, as well as watched her reels on YouTube (which include recipes that I actively use) and seen other interviews that she has done, I am well aware of how knowledgeable Dr Amati is, and possibly because of that was sadly underwhelmed by this book. A significant proportion of the content relates to โthe first 1000 daysโ, which is clearly a particular interest of the author. However, as I suspect many readers will be past the child-rearing stage, or not be planning to have children, so much emphasis on the topic in a book called โEvery body should know thisโ seems misplaced. I feel that the editor(s) could have been much more involved, balancing the content, providing better structure, putting more focus on actionable advice, and helping with making sentences flow better for native English speakers. Overall, in its current form this book meanders through the subject matter, in a way that does not work for me. For anybody thinking about having children, this book is still worth reading. For anybody else, particularly those who have watched Zoe podcasts, it shouldnโt be top of the list of books to read.

A brilliant, novel book that brings value for everyone
Not another diet book - but rather a book on how good nutrition can support changes that we all experience as we age. To maintain our health we need to re-embrace the positive power of food. I am a medical professional and I wish more of this was known by more people both in the profession and the public.

Not really for every body
I can see why the author would like a catchy title but in my opinion I donโt feel that this book is for every body. I feel that it excludes some of the population namely those of physical or neuro differences and so buying this book will only serve to make you feel more excluded unfortunately. I didnโt have any of the experiences listed when weaning my son and so from the very first pages I just had a painful recount of a very traumatic time for me. From this I would guess that the author has two typically developing children and assumes everyone does. If you are a person of means and can afford fresh produce and vivo barefoot shoes then you can follow the guidelines in this book. But if you are a minority struggling in any way with the cost of living then I donโt think there is anything you canโt obtain from the Zoe podcast or social media. The author says that she has few regrets if any, and it definitely comes across in the writing. I would say this is a very entry level guide to healthy living if you are a young adult reading your first book on the subject.
