The Crowning Venture: Inspiration from Women Who Have Memorized the Quran

I didn't want this book to end! Allahuma baarik it was so well written, very enjoyable and inspiring, I learnt a lot and it left me yearning to return to my Quran lessons after a period of illness sent me out of the loop. I recommend this book for everyone, as it shows that absolutely anyone can form a relationship with the Quran. I loved all the stories from all the different women, there is something that everyone can relate to, which helps to show how inclusive this journey is - it is not just reserved for a select few. May Allah honour and bless everyone involved with this book, and may He make us all companions of the Quran, ameen.

This is the fourth book I've come across in the last couple of years that captures some of the beauty of the Quran memorisation journey (the more the merrier!). The book shares the stories of present-day women living in the West who have managed to memorise the Quran; some who have done so earlier in their life and some who have done so later. The book mixes the stories of these women nicely with memorisation tips and it makes a good effort at dispelling a number of myths that prevent many people, women especially, from memorising the Quran. I really hope more people stumble across this book and we start to see a concerted effort in our communities towards getting more girls memorising & engaging with the Quran.

Id recommend this story to any person. It is very inspiring and motivating to read individual experiences aswell as there being many many tips and advice. Its inspiring to read about women from all walks of life giving their account of their Hifz journey. The author has done an excellent job of compiling these experiences into one book. Its makes it easier for the one who wants to do hifz to have different accounts in one place rather than doing the leg work themselves. A much loved read. A book you keep going back to appreciate and to draw strength from. The price of the book is nothing when you are recieving gems in return.

My only complaint about this book is the price. It delves into a hidden world. I wish there were more stories about the women who memorised the Qur'an. I wished there were 50 stories!

The book is filled with tips and encouragement for those who wish to take up the challenge of memorising the Qur’an from those that have completed the challenge before them. The book also deals with the negative attitudes among some within our community towards women that commit themselves to the memorisation of the Qur’an and sadly mentions two particular stories where women that wanted to memorise the Book of Allah were discouraged from doing so and as such were not able to complete their dream of becoming Hafizas of the Qur’an. On the whole the book is full of stories, anecdotes, encouragement, sometimes humour and other times seriousness from women that have taken the path to memorising the Qur’an. The book has examples of women that started their journey in their childhood to those that started memorising at the age of 60 or 70. It has examples of women who memorised only a few pages a day to superstars that managed to commit to memory 30 or 40 pages of the Qur’an a day! This book is a a must read for anyone looking to redevelop their relationship with the Qur’an and are looking for inspirational and motivational real life stories to help them along the way. It is also a must read for anyone looking to take up the challenge of memorising the book of Allah and is full of useful tips and guidance on how to fulfil this goal.

Really good and exactly what I was looking for. The writing style does change a little after the first part of book, as it's a retelling of the stories of others.

Still reading the book and needed to stop and give it a 5 stars . Thanks for this one of kind book , lessons of life’s , deep and subtle analysis and analogies. This book opened my eyes and my heart and will read the Holy book so differently now . JAK for sharing your crowing venture and may Allah grant it all for us .

May Allah bless the author immensely. Honestly this book is amazing. It’s such an eye-opener that memorizing the Quran and being a memorizer of the Quran is attainable. I think every muslimah should read this and it’s an amazing gift idea.
