This has worked very nicely for my homemade premium vanilla extract that has evolved from just a simple holiday gift to family members to know a highly sought after product I sell at local pop-ups and events. Beans are fresh, thick, and have as beautiful of an aroma as they do flavor!

I was just about out of vanilla extract when I happened to read a recipe for making your own. All it takes are vanilla beans and vodka, plus the bottles to put it in. I decided this was my type of recipe! The vanilla beans get stronger the longer you allow them to stay in the bottle, but they look so “professional” just peeking out the top of the mixture, I haven’t gotten rid of them yet, and I’ve been using this mixture all year! (This also makes a great Christmas gift for the more crafty people among us.) Admittedly they were a little difficult to slice to expose the little seeds, but I could use all the beans as they were obviously fresh and showed no signs of mold. I will not hesitate to re-order these in October, as that gives them time to develop flavor before I gift them to others. By the way, have you priced pure vanilla extract recently? Not only does this taste great—so much better than the expensive store-bought brands—but by making this up yourself, you can save lots of money, too! Definitely a win-win.

Loved the beans plump and fresh great packaging

This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've ordered these particular beans. They are a nice length and are perfect for making homemade vanilla extract. I buy a half-pint of the cheapest vodka (yes, the cheapest), pour it into a glass jar and then I cut all the beans into small pieces, about the size of mini tootsie-rolls. I let the jar sit for at least 3 months, the longer the better, and give it a good shake once in a while. I love using pure vanilla extract in my baked goods. Many people say they don't know the difference in imitation and pure extract, but I feel better using pure. These beans are a little on the dry side, but not brittle. Again, perfect for making homemade vanilla extract. I will continue to buy them as long as they are sold at a decent price here on Amazon.

UPDATE: These beans turned into the nicest vanilla! I left all of the beans in the bottle. After the 1-year mark, I kept topping off the bottle with more vodka to keep the beans submerged. Perpetual vanilla. They arrived quickly, fresh and flexible, smelling lovely. My bottle of vanilla turned dark faster than any I’ve ever made before, and I didn’t even split them lengthwise or scrape out the seeds - I just cut them up into 2” pieces like frozen green beans. It already smells amazing - I’m not sure I can wait until it’s fully infused.

This is my second purchase from this brand. Great smell, flavor, and perfect for making homemade vanilla extract. I'm about 1 year into making the extract so I haven't tried it much to flavor foods as hitting the 1 yr mark allows enough time for the flavor to more fully develop. My initial test tries, however, have proved to add a nice flavor to the food.

Ordered these to make my 1st batch of vanilla extract.These were my first time working with vanilla beans and I was disappointed in the size and dryness and they did not have much vanilla aroma to them. I made the extract using these beans so I’m curious to see how it turns out.Hope it’s good because these aren’t cheap but I will not purchase these again.

This is a fabulous tool. I all but stop making chicken because I hated to shred it with forks. I just shredded chicken in a matter of seconds. Also, the booklet says that the item is dishwasher safe. I will update my review if it doesn’t work well in the dishwasher, but other than that, it is a fabulous tool.
