Narex500 gram Brass Carving Mallet w/ Hornbeam Handle by Narex

Very pleased. I shined up the head a little with a little Never Dull and went to work. Feels great. Good heft and balance. Some are going to crucify me for saying this, but it's a hammer. And it performs it's intended purpose perfectly. I'd say it's an excellent value for the money.

This little mallet is great. People complaining about the cost and quality are nuts. Some Czech dudes’ cobbled this beauty together and shipped it to me for the price of a fancy cheeseburger and a beer. It will serve me a lifetime. Nothing available at lie Nielsen or Veritas will top this. It’s simple and extremely useful. Buy and enjoy.

This is my favorite mallet! It lives on my bench because it stands up nicely on its head, is simple, and since it is made of brass it is very hefty for its size.A couple of notes: I ended up sanding and refinishing the handle of the mallet because I didn't like the factory finish. I tend to do this on most of my Narex tools. I also re-glued (epoxy) the head when the handle became loose.I am very pleased with the tool as delivered, but am glad I took a little time to dial it in to my needs.

Perfect amount of weight. Substantial, but not uncomfortable to hold. Works very well for setting Japanese hand planes.

It’s grate feels grate in my hand using for wOodcarving now if thay would make a1.5 it would be grate I am looking for a1.5 lbs

Good weight for carving or even cutting out dovetails.

The tool is well made and solid with a good feel to it.

Great tool but head was loose when received and will not tighten.
