Tower T19015 Electric Plate Warmer with Double Insulated Sleeves, 200W, Black

My plate warmer arrived a few days earlier than the delivery date so that was a bonus. It was larger than I expected, my last one was much smaller, however it takes very large plates if needed and works very well gets nice and hot and you only need to have it on for half an hour for the plates to be hot. My last one could be on for an hour or more and the plates were warm!! Would definitely recommend Electrical Emporium for their service and good pricing.

Initially this item was purchased as my Christmas present to myself as I love kitchen gadgets and couldn't resist this one. Despite some reviews stating that this took a long time to heat up and at best only warmed the plates slightly if at all, I appear to have received one of the good ones. I can see the wisdom of always having a minimum of 5 plates when in use as the elements might well be damaged if they are in too close proximity; this unit does get very warm. So far my plates have been adequately warm within 10-15 minutes and if left for longer, will require caution when removing as they are VERY hot initially. I also found an unexpected extra use for this when I needed to defrost a container of frozen homemade soup in a hurry. Whilst the four plates I needed were warming, I placed the container, loosely wrapped in greaseproof paper lined with kitchen paper to prevent any moisture getting into the elements, into the top compartment and it defrosted perfectly and very quickly.

If you are wondering if you should get a plate warmer, or if this just an indulgence, a step too far, we thought the same. But three years on from a gift of a smaller version, which eventually failed, we use it every evening ( 'cept of course for salads...) and wouldn't be without it. It makes a real difference to the quality of the meal, particularly when the family takes time to gather. It is more convenient than using the oven to warm the plates (which frankly is only on once or twice a week). We decided to go for this larger, but cheaper version.As well as being able to heat a lot of plates, It is very quick in heating. If you forget until the last minute before serving up, it will still make a differrence.It is large, covering the whole of a 11" dinner plate - which has its downsides, in that they are very (very!) warm when you go to pick them up. Be warned, leave this for more than 15 mins, and you may need asbestos fingers to pick the plates up. You know that moment in the restaurant when they say "be careful the plates are hot..." and everyone inevitably touches them to see what *they* consider 'hot'? it's a bit like that.Overall, good, but when it needs replacing, will probably revert to the smaller option, as it fits our need better.

Really pleased, heats up in minutes and will warm 5 plates very quickly. Be aware that it recommends that you always warm the max quantity of 5 plates in case it damages the heating elements. As there is only 2 of us I was concerned but I now leave 3 in the warmer all the time and add 2 more when I switch it on. The instructions recommend 30 mins to warm up but I find 20 is fine and you can switch it off, they’ll stay warm for a good 10 - 15 minutes and it saves electricity but it’s not a fuel guzzling item anyway.I got mine from Amazon warehouse, saved me some money and the only difference was the box was a bit battered, you don’t need the box!

I have used it with 12 plates and it worked well. Easy to use and easy to clean cover when needed. Only down side is that is does not have on/off button, so one you plug it into a live plug it heats and keeps heating, so remember to un-plug it after use ... just saying, I forgot the first dinner party I used it for and woke up to it still warming away. On the up side, it worked for 12 hours straight without burning itself out, which is nice. Still, 5 stars from me. A great kitchen assistant :)

My previous Tower plate warmer eventually stopped working after a long time. So quick and easy to use, saves putting on the oven to heat plates and space. Heats up quickly and does get very warm. Fits large plates and bowls. You can’t go wrong with this. A little more expensive than others but worth it in my opinion.

This is a great kitchen gadget. If you only have one oven and are cooking items at too hot a temp to put plates in the warm up its fantastic. Takes about 15 - 20 mins to heat up to 10 plates. The instructions say essential to put a plate in all 5 pockets to avoid overheating so bear that in mind even if you are using less than that. Its light, compact and will get much use. I'm very pleased with it as I hate a cold plate for my hot food.

Lovely to have warm plates. You need it on for about half an hour for them to be properly warm. Easy to store not very big. Reasonably priced.

As noted by others, this item has a UK plug. I knew that going in, and use an adaptor for Australia. We like using this for heating plates and silverware. This will only need around ten minutes to heat flat plates. You need be careful if you leave it warming longer than 20 minutes, it will heat plates and silverware rather hot. In fact too hot to hold. We just unplug after 15 mins and the heat holds well. We've used this with 8 large plates with zero issues. We've also used it with 8 large bowls, stacked in sets of two. Bowls will need more time to heat. Overall very pleased. Only issue is it can get real hot.

These are great and heat quickly. We bought two sets and did a 4 course banquet for 16 at our house. Heated each courses plates in a few minutes and then we could lay it flat on the bench with the plates on top while playing up. Kept them piping hot

It works very well however there is nothing on the site to indicate the plug nationality - or choice . That would be a good addition.

I love it. So easy and works a treat. The only thing I didn't think about was the UK power plug. Lucky I had a converter to our Australian plug.:)
