Can i use steel strings with this model?

The description doesn't say that it has been reinforced to support the higher tension of steel strings. I wouldn't put steel strings on this ukulele nor any ukulele that didn't come from the factory with steel strings already installed. When I wanted steel strings, I bought a Vorson solid-body ukulele with electromagnetic pickups and steel strings. Can you still play acoustiy without the battery?

Yes. Since it's a hollow-body ukulele, it plays acoustically like any ukulele without the electronics. Solid body ukuleles need the electronics or they're much too quiet.

Problems? (a) strings take a week or more to stretch enough to stay in tune. (b) if using clip-on tuner, make sure it's set to uk on the screen.

Some clip-on tuners call the ukulele mode just "U". Joyo tuners have 2 ukulele modes: Uc and Ud, where Uc is for C6 standard gCEA tuning, and Ud is D6 Canadian aDF#B tuning.

Where is the output located on this model?

It was a gift for my grandson and it’s at his house now but I am pretty sure it’s on the bottom center or off center a little as you look at the front with the neck straight up.
