Jan 30, 2025 1041 days have passed since Achilles tendon rupture at age 76. Tried everything, but the 'ol gastrocnemius never re-activated and regained strength. That means at the point in your gait when you should be pushing off from the ball of the foot you got no push. Instead you limp. That affects your knee and hip. Keep it up and every time you go for a walk the leg will ache. I know for elderly Achilles people about half don't get back to normal. Spent a lot of time trying to find what they do; no luck. I wondered what if that foot was in the raised heel push off position by virtue of a heel lift? Would that help? Couple days ago I tried the Dr. Foot 1" heel lift I haven't used for a couple years and it did help immediately. Had to try it on a hike. 1.5 miles in 31 minutes; no leg pain. That one isn't very comfortable, so I ordered a new one that arrived today; Lcyiven 1 3/8". 1.5 miles in 28 minutes flat!, comfortable and it hasn't felt so good to walk since before rupture. No limp. I'm using Wintin barefoot boots with zero drop. I wonder if anyone else has used a heel lift for this purpose? Would like to hear from Lcyiven.

Felt comfortable initially but then it bens your heal inward which makes it uncomfortable to walk.

When it arrived I noticed it was very sturdy. So I thought to myself it might be too firm. Then I finally decided to give it a try about a year after. To my surprised it exceeded my expectation. At that time, my plantar fasciitis was causing my heel so much pain and soreness. To make matters worse all of my other silicone heel cups and insoles were badly worn. So I placed this product inside my Clarks Ashland slip on loafers. Immediately, the the pain was gone. All I felt was comfort. It was as if I had placed the most comfortable pillow underneath my sole. This product supports the arch well while correcting and stabilizing flat feet. This is a five star product. Try it today.

This is great, my husband tore his achilles tendon playing soccer and wasn’t able to stand properly after therapy and I bout these for myself to gain a little more height and he borrowed it and start wearing it. It help him gain back his confidence in walking without worrying about rapture again because it gave you the heel raise to keep his achilles tendon in place. It’s a great product.
