Nice sniffers: simple, convenient, elegant.

Luigi Bormioli glassware is wonderful, we have these snifters, the 6-ounce perlage to use as champagne flutes, and the grappa glasses as well. All have beautiful contemporary styling, dishwasher safe due to their strength, and are well sized for their respective duty in ferrying your favorite beverage to your nose and then your palate. Great pricing on Amazon and for Prime you can't beat it. I used standard glassware (e.g. highball or lowball) but only use those for when I need ice. The snifter is great for apertifs, scotches and bourbons, digestifs, you name it.

I have been looking for glasses of suitable size to serve concentrated wines - sherry, port, Madera and the like, but for some reason they are difficult to come by in the USA just now. These are just the right size! Not the tiny cordial glasses that ARE everywhere, these are a nice height, well proportioned, and they easily hold a 3-4 oz serving with room for the aromas to develop. They are tasting glasses, or snifters, so the mouth is small to concentrate aromas for "sniffing" and designed for small sips, not gulping - you can get your nose in the glass for the aroma, but cannot get your nose in the glass AND drink, by design. This design feature is not necessary in a sherry or port glass, but it does make these multi-purpose as they can also be used for tastings, brandy, whisky, scotch and other concentrated alcohols. These will do! These are non-lead crystal, they ring - although it is a a high ring, so you must listen to hear it continue. They have lovely delicate looking stems and a thin lip which is fire polished - I did compare them side by side, so note that as these are much smaller glasses than, say the 25 oz glass, due to proportions they may not seem as thin, they are however consistent in thickness with the rest of this Bormioli line. For purposes of comparison, remember these use titanium instead of lead to create the crystal structure, and titanium is much lighter than lead, so if you have used comparable lead crystal, these will seem light by comparison. They are clear, with no discernible color to my eye when held in the light against a white napkin with an all one piece pulled stem, so, no seams. Elegant small glasses for that bit of sherry before dinner or a glass a port afterwards at a price that will allow you to use them often. There are 6 instead of the 4 in most boxes of stemware I've seen of late. These came all intact, and meet the need we have for this size glass, so I am happy.

The glasses are 3/4" shorter and squattier than the Riedel Vinum Cognac snifters, which makes them more stable and harder to tip over. But their shorter stems are harder to hold in a big hand. They seem sturdy and are free of any noticeable defects, but do not look as elegant as the Riedel. At $10 a piece, however, the Vinoteque is a much better product than the Riedel at $25 on sale.

These are not fine crystal nor delicate wine goblets but for every day use and parties, they are a perfect size, durable and look nice on the table.

I love these. They're basically perfect, IMHO. But these are also exactly what I was looking for. They're thin. I like drinking spirits from a thin rim. They seem strong though. I don't get the feeling that they're too precious. They're small. Like really small. I generally pour 1-2oz tastes, but for that amount they're perfect. The opening at the top is also pretty small. It could be a touch wider, but it's plenty big to get all but the largest schnozzola in there for a good sniff. As far as their tasting and smell performance. I love them.

The glasses themselves looked great. Unfortunately, there was breakage during transit and I need to return them. They were packed with bubblewrap but there was no "Fragile" sticker/markings on the shipping box. I'll try to order again and hope they come intact next time.

Ich benutze die Gläser sehr gerne. Sie verbinden die Form eines klassischen Clencairn mit der Eleganz eines Stielglases. Die Gläser haben hier und da Unregelmäßigkeiten aber damit kann ich leben. Und das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist auch sehr gut.

I love the feel of these glasses. They're sturdy and feel like crystal. But because they're made with titanium, they're not too fragile so you can enjoy them without worry. I've been looking for an 'elegant' alternative to my glencairn glasses and this fits it perfectly without busting my budget. As you can see from the picture, it's almost the same size of a glencairn, only slightly smaller. I would highly recommend these glasses to anyone.

Ce sont des verres intéressants pour la dégustations d'alcools forts tels que whiskys ou rhums. La forme de tulipe est vraiment adaptée et la largeur inférieure du verre permet un bon contact avec l'air pour diffuser les arômes du breuvage. On reprochera peut-être un pied un peu fin qui nécessite de faire attention à l'essuyage manuel (j'ai cassé un pied de cette façon en forçant un peu trop en torsion).

These are quite simply magnificent. I have a bunch of glasses I use depending on the mood, Glencairns, smaller "tasting" glencairns, tulip shaped tumblers, crystal rocks tumblers. These Luigi Bormioli are my favourite out of them all. Very well made, look elegant and have the same nosing performance as my Glencairns. Highly recommend these to anyone who drinks neat spirits.
