What an brilliant but oh so simple idea. 9 Eco - friendly bags. Put these into your shopping bags and when you get to the shops you can put your loose fruit and vegetables into the bags. You could use one for raw meat so it doesn't leak into your carrier bag. Cuts out the need for all those dreadful little plastic bags which in my county are not recyclable. They can be used for anything that usually needs a bag . The cashier can still see what is in the bags . You can use for storage . You get 9 in 3 different sizes for £9.99 , a small price to pay to help reduce plastic rubbish.

These are attractive and useful, with even the smallest of the three sizes being large enough to hold 1.4kg (3lb) of anything from apples to onions, through gooseberries and avocadoes to almost any other fruit or vegetable you can think of that is more or less round and not too squishy.Fruit and veg. that are not round may not pack so well – bananas, leeks, celery – but the bags are nevertheless useful for those too.And not just fruit and veg. All kinds of things can be kept together and safe from dirtying or being dirtied by other things. Other than powders and very fine grains, anything you could put in a paper bag will go in one of these.Or you can use one of these bags as a fine mesh sieve. (Turn it inside out to rinse it clean.)And afterwards put it in the washing machine. (Don’t bother to machine dry – they air dry in a couple of hours, or less.)Living and breathing fruit and veg. will be happier inside one of these mesh bags than inside a polybag.Not so good are that the labels giving the weight of the bag when empty (so you can calculate the weight of the contents without emptying the bag) are in ounces only – when virtually all groceries and greengroceries have been sold by metric measure in the UK for a good many years now. In any case, supermarket scales weigh and charge you for all you put on them, regardless.Made of polyester, with a plastic fastener, these bags will surely end up one day going to landfill, or to an incinerator. Supermarket plastic bags weigh very much less (and I for one use and re-use them until they can be re-used no longer), so the ultimate reduction of the burden on the environment is much less than might at first appear.They are a nice item, though.

Very useful and practical with a good range of sizes. I’m not quite sure about the weight: these are marked on the bags so you don’t take it into account when buying goods by weight but I can’t quite see how to deal with this at a supermarket. Otherwise these are really handy and practical.

I've eliminated plastic bags in the salad compartment of my fridge, and for storage of root vegetables, using these bags instead. They're odour-free, and just transluscent enough to be able to tell what is inside.Now all we need is for supermarkets to stop pre-wrapping and allow you to use these bags to buy everything loose.

Very nice produce bags.Look and feel like quality items.Useful as they allow products to breath.Also handy for non-food items.Good value.

Usually, we store vegetables in paper bags, if being stored in the cupboard or in plastic bags if being stored in the fridge. The plastic in the fridge in less than satisfactory as it encourages condensation.These bags are far better for both environments and can be thrown into the washing machine when required.A variety of sizes, all with a drawer-string.Easy to clean and easier for organising and storing vegetables.

I am not impressed with these bags. I don’t like the feel of them. They are made of polyester which I don’t think is particularly environmentally friendly. I would prefer them made of organic cotton.They seem flimsy.What exactly would I store in them?I reuse brown paper bags that my veggies are derived in. I avoid supermarket fruit and veg unless necessary but would the supermarket want to see shoppers using their own bags?The fact they are see through would help. I think a market stall might be happy to use them but I can’t get to one these days.I like the idea of using them in place of these useless flimsy transparent bags supermarkets love but would that take place? I think the bags perhaps should be sold to the supermarkets and shoppers encouraged to reuse them.I agree that this is an alternative to plasticised plastic bags but I prefer paper.

These are a great idea, you take them shopping, you use them instead of the shops plastic bags and so, do one little thing to help the environment.However, these are themselves plastic and so that to a certain extent goes against the grain.You can however see what is in them.You can wash them.You can use them over and over again.The stitching is OK, but I fail to see how you can use the tare weight, as supermarkets are not set up to reduce the weight of fruit and veg by, for example 0.91oz.The draw string works well.I have also found these great (the larger ones) for dirty washing when away, an the smaller one for holding the numerous charging leads I seem to need to take with me wherever I go...If they were not made of plastic they would be a 5 star review.

Da in vielen Geschäften das Plastiksackerl mit 1 Cent berechnet wird und man es nach einmaligem Verwenden immer wieder wegwerfen musste, habe ich mich für die umweltfreundliche Variante entschieden. Die Größen sind optimal, für jeden Zweck etwas dabei. Sei es für mehrere Semmeln oder nur für eine Hand voll Trauben beispielsweise.Super Produkt, beide Daumen hoch!

die Säckchen sind immer wieder einsatzbereit, leicht zu befüllen und einfach in der Waschmaschine zu reinigen. Damit bleibt Obst und Gemüse einfach zu transportieren beim Einkaufen und die lästigen kleine Plastiktüten fallen endlich weg. durch die Verschiedenen Größen ist man sehr flexibel.

Die dünnen Mesh-Beutel, die alle mit einem Kordelzug ausgestattet sind, werden in drei Größen geliefert. Man kann sie vielseitig einsetzen. Die größte Bedeutung haben sie fürs plastikfreie Einkaufen, denn in diese dünnen Beutel kann Obst oder Gemüse genauso gut verpackt werden wie in die dünnen Plastikbeutel, die es an den Obst- und Gemüsetheken von der Rolle gibt.Noch ist leider das Umweltbewusstsein nicht überall so groß, dass man die Beutel nutzen könnte. In manchem Supermarkt werden sie wohl noch nicht akzeptiert, was schon mal daran liegt, dass zwar das Tara-Gewicht der verschiedenen Beutel auf einem kleinen angenähten Label zu sehen ist, jedoch ist es in Unzen angegeben, womit manche Supermarktwaagen wohl ihre Schwierigkeiten haben. Möchte man die Beutel trotzdem nutzen, muss man wohl in Kauf nehmen, dass sich das Gewicht der Beutel (das glücklicherweise sehr niedrig ist) im Kaufpreis wiederfindet.Praktisch finde ich die Beutel beim Einkauf auf dem Wochenmarkt, denn da wird das Gemüse und Obst noch ganz altmodisch in einer Schale gewogen und dann in den Einkaufskorb gekippt. Da mir nicht so gut gefällt, wenn im Korb Kartoffeln, Äpfel und Tomaten durcheinander fliegen, haben sich die Mesh-Beutel bewährt, in die man sich das Gekaufte füllen lassen kann.Auch zur Vorratshaltung sind die Beutel gut geeignet, denn sie lassen Luft an den Inhalt. Zwiebeln oder Knoblauch können deshalb schön luftig in so einem Beutel aufgehängt und aufbewahrt werden.Daneben kann man natürlich alles mögliche darin verwahren. Einen der kleineren Beutel nutze ich beispielsweise für meine gebrauchten Abschminkpads, die ich mir selber genäht habe. In dem Beutel kann ich sie bis zur nächsten Wäsche sammeln und auch direkt darin waschen. In meinem Haushalt sind derartige Mesh-Beutel mittlerweile unverzichtbar, denn ich schätze ihre Vielseitigkeit und Stabilität und dass sie sich gut reinigen lassen.

ich nehme die Beutel bei jedem Einkauf mit und lasse durch umpacken auch Plastikumverpackungen bei Gemüse und Obst im Laden. Ich nehme seit Jahren keine Plastiktaschen mehr mit nach Hause und kann diese nun endlich auch bei Frischprodukten einsparen.

Die Lieferung kam überraschenderweise sehr schnell.Da ich sie noch nicht benutzt habe, kann ich zu Robustheit und Vielseitigkeit noch keine Angaben machen.Die Qualität ist in Ordnung und der Verschluss sehr praktisch ! !
